In local news, it appears OKC Major Mick Cornett is a basic-level jerk politician

After saying that one opponent of Maps 3 should be 'called out', Oklahoma City mayor Mick Cornett now says he won't debate former legislator Porter Davis.

"In the past when you have had public debates, typically who fills the rooms is people who have strong opinions one way or the other, and I don't know that that's fruitful at this point," said the Mayor in an interview with KTOK News at a maps 3 forum held Monday night.
Ah. So an opponent of this plan 'should be called out', but hizzoner doesn't have the balls- or integrity, one or the other- to actually debate the guy on it.

Got news for you, Mayor; having people who have strong opinions one way or the other and arguing points in front of them is a part of representative government; do you not understand that, or just not like it and so wish to toss it out?
