Speaking of Democrat hacks with bylines, 60 Minutes is the demonstrator

of just how bad these bastards are.

Short version: the Gov. of Florida has not followed the Preferred Narrative™ on dealing with Wuhan, and succeeded, and they can't stand it, so they're trying to trash him any way they can.  Since he used the pharmacies at a bunch of stores to- successfully- get lots of people vaccinated, 60 Minutes tried to paint it as him paying off one chain for political donations.

And cut out all parts of the interview that disproved their PN™.  

Also proof that, if you're interviewed by hacks like these, record it.  They don't like it, tell them "I continue recording or no interview."  If you can prove them liars if they screw with it, they can't get away with it as much*.  Video of them trying to explain why you can't record it would probably be entertaining, too.


*The leftists will let them get away with it, no matter the proof.

First, from the liars at NPR,
National Public Radio has corrected an online article that falsely asserted that documents from first son Hunter Biden’s laptop had been “discredited by U.S. intelligence.”

A book review of Hunter Biden’s memoir “Beautiful Things” initially dismissed the documents first reported in October by The Post.

“The laptop story was discredited by US intelligence and independent investigations by news organizations,” the book review by Ron Elving, senior editor of the publicly funded media organization, initially claimed.

The correction on the Thursday article now says, “A previous version of this story said US intelligence had discredited the laptop story. US intelligence officials have not made a statement to that effect.”
"The lie served its purpose, so now we're 'correcting' it."

On the other,
Joseph Wulfsohn at Fox News reports CBS News decided on Saturday to delete a tweet for sounding way too partisan. On Friday, CBS tweeted out a report by Khristopher Brooks headlined "3 ways companies can help fight Georgia's restrictive new voting law."

Sometimes something unique comes through

and I get to take a good look at it.  And some pictures.  In this case,

a Sharps New Model 1863 Cavalry Carbine.

These were originally set up to use a .52-caliber bullet with a paper or linen cartridge, fired by either a percussion cap or use a mechanism to feed a sort of disc-type cap onto the nipple when you cocked the hammer.  After the Civil War a bunch of them were bundled off to Sharps with an order to convert them to the new .50 Government(more commonly known as the .50-70) cartridge; this is one of them.  The breechblock was modified to hold the firing pin, the hammer modified or replaced to work with the new block setup.

It's lighter than you might think, and balances nicely.  Has the standard for the time tiny little sights.

And, wonderful thing, I got to fire it.  If you want to shoot one of these, you'd have to roll your own.  The owner's loads were a 450-grain bullet over a light charge of 55 grains of 2f black powder.

To my thinking, if I had one of these, something like that is what I'd make up; 55 grains and it roared, recoil was there but nothing bad.  This thing with 70 grains- or as close as you could get in with modern cases- would speak LOUDLY.  On both ends.

It's a really interesting feeling to hold something made and used during the Civil War and after, and fire it.

At the Anchorage talks, Chinese diplomat Yang Jiechi had the unmitigated gall to throw Black Lives Matter directly into Blinken’s face, saying: “The challenges facing the United States in human rights are deep-seated. They did not just emerge over the past four years, such as ‘Black Lives Matter.’” Blinken and his team, likely clueless about what went on at Beijing’s Houston consulate, offered not a murmur of protest.

It’s worth mentioning that Alicia Garza, one of the three self-avowed Marxists who founded the Black Lives Matter movement, with a background in the Maoist Freedom Road Socialist Organization, also runs a network of affiliated organizations. One of these is the Black Futures Lab. A click on the website’s “donate” button goes to a page that states: “Black Futures Lab is a fiscally sponsored project of the Chinese Progressive Association.” Despite group denials of any affiliation between the two, there is no question that the CPA is supportive of the People’s Republic of China. 

Why are we in this mess? In large part because the schools did a wonderful job of teaching their alternate history

and ignoring the truth.
