Two things this evening

Self-described as a 'revolutionary Marxist' when he hit the airwaves? He's having fits about the open communists running for office- or in office- in NYeffingCity. The question that comes to mind is, does he actually think they're going too far, or just being too open about it? Bunch of other Democrats as well, and they're smashing the actual American Democrats. This will not go well.
The Brit government is still working hard to destroy the country. Multiple rapist gets out of prison early, AND can't be deported. Wonderful.
Someone mentioned and I looked up Thomas Jefferson's first draft of the Declaration. One part in particular I wish had remained in it, would've saved a world of trouble in generations to come.
Unconnected with the above, the physical therapy on the shoulder has moved from "Let's loosen you up some" to "Let me know when this gets to the 'almost too much' point, which caused me to laugh and refer her to the torture scene in 'The Princess Bride', which made her laugh.

Son learned to be a machinist, got his first job before he finished the classes and never looked back. And for quite a while he was, in his 30's, the youngest guy in the shops he worked at, and those shops were desperate to get more people. In his early 40's he was still the youngest guy in that shop. And they can use a lot more.
Bless Mike Rowe for his work and what he's done to push the trades, and it's working.

Today was first day of evaluation and physical therapy,
the therapy varying from "That's not a problem" to "Stop there, that's painful!"
I did ask if it were best for me to say something or make noises if something became painful, and I was assured that both are fine. So some noises were made, but nothing that required some level of screaming. Close in one case, but not quite.

Here’s the thing: censors always think their motives are pure. From inquisitors to commissars to modern “hate speech” units, they all believe they’re preventing some existential harm. That has never made it okay to strip people of their basic rights, and it doesn’t change the fact that this is precisely what they’re doing.
In the United States, we (still) recognize that. In the EU and the UK, they increasingly do not. And that’s more dangerous to how we treat speech in the US than the abuses that happen in places like China or Iran, because we aren’t likely to turn into China or Iran. But we may turn into the UK, or Germany, or Finland, where they purport to maintain their belief in free expression but have rationalized it into a corner where it can do very little good. So while we’re never shocked at horrifying censorship in China or Russia, we should continue to be shocked by the retreat from liberalism that we’re seeing in the Anglosphere and in Europe. We also need to be vocal in opposing it, because it really could happen here.

Civil rights victory,
A unanimous three-judge panel of the U.S. Fifth Circuit last week ruled that suppressors are protected by the Second Amendment, exactly the opposite of a decision from the California-based Ninth Circuit.
In the 11-page decision in the appeal of U.S. vs. Comeaux (24-30307) published in the Western District of Louisiana on June 18, the court fell back on the "text, history, and tradition" guidelines of Bruen and the meaning of "bear arms" as explained in the Heller ruling ("wear, bear, or carry . . . for the purpose . . . of being armed and ready for offensive or defensive action in case of conflict with another person.") to explain that "silencers" (suppressors) are bearable arms.
Which can set it up to go to the Supremes.

“Protecting the rights of marijuana users.” Note that neither the phrase “gun rights” or “Second Amendment” appears anywhere in the ACLU’s email blast to donors cheering their win representing Ali Hemani at the Supreme Court in a unanimous ruling.
The ACLU’s big takeaway here:
The court has sent a strong message that the government cannot criminalize the conduct of large numbers of people by making categorical and unfounded assumptions about whether they are dangerous.
The fact that those people have a civil right to keep and bear arms never seems to enter into the equation for the “nation’s guardian of liberty, working in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and the laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country.”

reminds me of something...
Oh yeah, got it. When the Brit NHS decided "We have said this kid is going to die, and he'll die. We don't care if someone will fly him somewhere and treat him in another country at no cost to us, WE decided he's going to die." There were pictures of cops outside the hospital with orders to keep protesters away- this was after the family had been told that if they caused any problems they wouldn't get to see their kid before death- and someone had a picture of a group and mention of 'Over here, that'd be a target-rich environment', to the upset of all the leftists.
Some guy posted on a Fecesbook post I made of that and said "Do you know how disgusting that sounds to the rest of the world?" I said "Why should I care what the 'rest of the world' thinks?"
