talking about your good dog ? yeah, I had a couple of them I still miss everyday.
I was lucky enough to have 2 great dog in my life.
one was 17 and a half when he crossed over. the other one lasted 13 years until cancer was about to take him. and there is not much I wouldn't give to have one more day with either one of them again. so, yeah. I understand how you feel.

yeah. my Dad. he was a WW2 and Korea war vet. I never really got to know him until after I came home. that is when we used to sit on the back porch and have a beer or three and talk. it been 22 years since he passed on. still have photos of him on the walls. weird thing was I never knew he had a Navy cross until he was getting buried. the Navy did Dad right by him in the end though. he is in Arlington national cemetery. and yeah, I miss the hell out of talking with him.

Dad, lost him in 1999. We had a conflicted relationship that we were just sorting out. Wish we had had more time to build. Mom went in 2016. She was 99 yrs old. We had time to say everything that needed saying, it was much easier. Dog, lost him in April. He was a rescue we got in 2018. He was 12-13 when he passed, had faced a number of health challenges. He was such a sweet boy. He had lived on the streets and never lost his food aggression , he’d grab anything remotely food like and would fight you to keep it. Other than that he was sweet as pie. He left a big hole in our lives. I’m a grumpy old man and counted it a good day when it was just him and me “hangin out”

I understand. I also miss sitting on the front steps with my buddy Slim. 13 years was not long enough.
