Among the reasons I have the categories 'PC Idiocy' and

'PC at any price' is garbage like this:
Health authorities in Australia say they are concerned about the growing number of women who have undergone some form of genital mutilation.

Female circumcision is illegal in Australia, but experts say there is evidence that it is being practised here.

More and more migrant women are also seeking help after having the procedure in their home countries
.
Not to the PC part yet.
"There is some evidence to suggest that it does happen in certain parts of Australia," he said.

"It's hard to gauge the actual numbers because it's prohibited by legislation and it's something that is performed in an underground way.

"But certainly there have been reports of children being taken to hospital after having the procedure done with complications from that procedure."

'Some evidence'? And what might that be?
Melbourne's Royal Women's Hospital says it is seeing between 600 and 700 women each year who have experienced it in some form.
Yeah, I think you could call that 'some evidence'. Wouldn't you? As Blair puts it,
And that’s just in Melbourne. What about Sydney? Adelaide? Perth? What the hell is going on here?
And now we come to the PC idiocy:
Ms Mohamud is optimistic the practice will end, but she fears migrant communities or individual women will be demonised.

"Some people when they hear they say, 'how can that happen?' It's when something is cultural and the people have been doing it for so long, it's not easy to either eliminate it or to say, 'you have got a bad culture'," she said.

"You have to work with them, listen to them. You have to know where they are coming from in order to help them."

To put it less politely than Mr. Blair, fuck that. "You have a sick culture and this shit is illegal. Whoever had anything to do with this is going to jail." I don't give a rats ass 'where they are coming from', you jackass.
Dr Ted Weaver agrees and he says ordering people against the practice would be inappropriate.

"If we try and dictate and pontificate about this and not provide culturally appropriate care, we'll further disenfranchise those women," he said
.
And fuck you, Dr. Weaver, you miserable little PC asshole. 'DISENFRANCHISE'?!? THEY'RE BEING MUTILATED and you're worried about APPROPRIATE criticism? And ordering people to stop would be 'INAPPROPRIATE'?

THESE ASSHOLES ARE MUTILATING WOMEN AND CHILDREN; THAT IS INAPPROPRIATE, SIR. Excuse me, let me rephrase: THAT is INAPPROPRIATE, you shit-brained little PC-at-any-cost(to someone else, of course) MORON. You, whose answer to this is
"But I think all we can do is advocate against it, speak out, try to educate women, try to empower women, certainly in this country, and we should do our best for international organisations that are also espousing the same message."
Bull-fucking-shit, Weaver; you make it plain to these bastards that if they do this, they'll go to jail. Period. That this shit is NOT acceptable in Australia* and will not be tolerated. AND THEN YOU ENFORCE IT. Fuck being 'culturally sensitive and appropriate' toward the child-mutilating culture they brought with them: they come to Australia- or the US or Britain or anywhere else- THAT SHIT STOPS.

"We'll empower women by not forcing the assholes mutilating them to stop, since it's part of the 'culture' " my ass.

*This shit is not acceptable any-bloody-where, but at this point we can't prevent it happening in Somalia or wherever; if the castrati like Weaver & Co. are not allowed to continue as they are, we can damn well stop it in civilized countries.

I think anyone who would do that to a girl deserves 230 grains of cu-pb administered to the pituitary (from the left temple or the right, it depends on the administrator of the dosage)until the urge to do this ceases.

What is that old saying about how the (evil) Imperial Brits cured the problem of"sutee" in India?
Something about they(the Indians) could do their thing and then the Brits would do their thing, ie. hang the bastards. Problem cured very quickly.
(Although nowadays the Brit gov would problably give them the matches.)

From General Napier:
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."

I live in Perth (in Western Oz) and in general it is a wonderful place - great beaches, sunshine, laid-back vibe, and enough mining and related business to keep the GFC pretty much at bay. Unfortunately we are infested with the same PC crap - and it is getting worse.

I totally endorse your point here - this female genital mutilation IS a sick practice, and a sign of a sick culture. In our culture we call it "aggravated assault, occasioning grievous bodily harm".

However, we are limited (for the most part) to .38" diameter bullets, so administration of .45 ACP justice will be difficult - will .38 Super at 1500 fps suffice?

(And before anybody jumps in - I KNOW that .38 Super is NOT .38" diameter, the idiot that wrote the law does not.)

Absolutely; in the situation being considered, velocity does have virtues that make up for lack of diameter/weight.

And your country is one place I want to see some of before I stop breathing.

Firehand, don't hesitate, do it now - as you get older the journey only gets harder.

It is a LONG way to Perth from anywhere - we take a kind of perverse pride in being described as "the most remote state capital in the world". Perth is apparently further from another major city than any other claimant to the title.

The east coast offers more attractions, more closely packed, but there is not much in Australia that is really close to anything else.

Envision 20 million people in the same land area as the contiguous 48 US states - towns are far apart and small, and we have only seven state capitals so there is probably only 20 cities that actually qualify for that status. You won't often be taking a taxi to the next sight.

You can't not see Kakadu, and once you are there it's just as far to go back as it is to continue to Perth.

See you soon?
