At the moment,

I really don't care about the news, or much else.  Stuff to do that sounds a LOT more attractive than reading that crap.

So, to hold you for now,

No. HELL no.

And that's just a start.

A 'gun nut' wrote a piece for Politico on 'gun control that works'.  It's nothing new, it's been proposed before: 'Don't license guns, license gun owners.'  His has one change: "You only need a license for semi-auto firearms."

I'll skip over various objections to this crap, and go straight to one of his answers:
Objection: Gun ownership is a constitutional right, and we don’t license constitutional rights. You don’t need a special license for free speech, for instance.
Me: You wouldn’t need a license to own lots and lots of guns of different types under this scheme, either. You would just need a license to own semi-autos, just like you need a license to broadcast over certain parts of the public airways.
"Hey, we're only licensing PART of your right, not all of it!  And this will never be used as a wedge to license everything else, we promise!"  Yeah.  We can trust that.  Sure.

Here's your problem, guy: WE KNOW BETTER.  Of freakin' COURSE the control freaks and gun bigots and hoplophobes will use it to extend the licensing: "Hey, you're ok with having a license for those evil full-semi-auto guns, so why not all the others?"  And giving these clowns the chance to make the medical/psychological exam both more and more expensive, and intrusive?  Fat damned chance.

And saying "We'll have to trust the courts to prevent that"?  I repeat: HELL no.

Just because you want to largely surrender to the enemy doesn't make it 'gun control that works'; it's another non-compromise that gives them another piece of the cake while they give up nothing.

Good piece on the subject of prepping,

and why, from a stormwater hydrologist:
The Surprisingly Solid Mathematical Case of the Tin Foil Hat Gun Prepper
Or, “Who Needs an AR-15 Anyway?”

With a nice bit that touches on the virtue-signaling gun vandals and hoplophobes:
...Most recently, we had some guy cut his own AR-15 in half on Youtube, to thunderous applause. Don’t mischaracterize my position. If Mr. Pappalardo thought that he might be prone to murdering someone with his rifle, or more statistically likely — purposely killing himself with it, then he should absolutely sell or destroy it. But if he isn’t going to do either of those things, all he must do to ensure it doesn’t hurt anyone is not shoot anyone with it. He could leave it in his attic with a couple of cans of ammunition, just in case something horrible does transpire where he might actually need it. There are certain things in the world you’d rather have and not need, than need and not have. And paramount among those things, given the state of the modern human condition, is a rifle.

Saturday

Take a look

What happens when friggin' idiots

(“I look like a white girl, but I don’t feel like one. I’m a black woman”) have no real problems in their lives, so they have to create some.

I've had days I'd bloody love to do this

Friday,

and not bad out there.  But there's still some new information to check over

Tulster Holsters

Company I hadn't heard of before, they make holsters and mag carriers, and I have their S&W M&P full-size rig to try out.  This is a Kydex IWB holster

With pistol inside

Here's the mag carrier

So far I've been using them for about a week.  Initial impressions:
Well made.
Retention is adjustable on both.
The holster's been about as comfortable as such a IWB can be.

The mag carrier I've been wearing outside the belt; there's just no room in my waistband for holster and it both.  There's been no problem with the mag slipping while I walk/ride/bend over, and the pistol has stayed secure.  I will note that the package included a tube of threadlocker, and the instructions say to experiment with the retention, and when you've got it as you like it to remove the screws, use the locker, and put them back in.

I'll keep wearing it and see how it holds up, and if it stays comfortable as the weather gets warmer.

Well, they kneecapped Sanders, so

why would doing the same to others be a surprise?

As Townhall's Elizabeth Yore reports, "69 GOP (and 1 Dem) [voted] for the bill and 77 Dems and Independents [voted[ against an FGM bill that would criminalize female genital mutilation."
The defense is "It doesn't happen here!", but some slight problems with that.

What happens when the people in charge actually want to win, instead of doing continual virtue-signaling:
"The Russian high command in Syria assured us it was not their people, and my direction to the chairman was for the force, then, to be annihilated," Mattis said. "And it was."

'All about and by the children'?  My ass it is.
Here is the principal of Fleming Island High School in Clay County, Florida confiscating Gadsden flags that students had brought to counter the heavily Anti Gun activity of March 24 of this year.
...
In Marion County, School Superintendent, Dr Heidi Maier has been identified as the one organizing the county-wide March of Our Lives the same date. It is being said that she gave orders to teachers to engage themselves in organizing “events”, to create and distribute polls to be taken by students, what they were supposed to talk about with the students during those “events” and even “convince them” to take the poll since this was supposed to be a student-driven initiative and the students may have been less than enthusiastic about more politics.

One of the questions asked by the teachers during the talks had to do about what the state and federal governments could do to avoid violence in schools, a not so disingenuous way to call for more Gun Control. At least in one school, Belleview High School, the first question had to do with instituting mental health checks as requisite to buy firearms.

My Sentiment.  Go read, here's a taste:
I am an angry, vengeful, mean fucking person.  The only way to stop your people from being put into mass graves is to put the people who are trying to put you into mass graves in mass graves.
It doesn’t sound noble but it is the undeniable lesson of history.
I think you'll approve of the ending.

"Change your corporate culture to what we consider a more socially-acceptable form,

or else."
That sounds like Amalgamated Bank needs to be investigated.  And sued.

How bad has (formerly Great)Britain become?  This bad.  This is what happens when you insist on blaming objects for what people do.

Kim has something to say about the current leftist attacks both on conservatives/libertarians and any leftist who reveals themselves to be anywhere right of Castro.  Language warning, here's a taste:
Fucking hell: I enjoy a good show as much as anyone, but when Leftists are pilloried by other Leftists for being not Left enough — when the first Leftists stand to the left of Joseph Stalin to begin with — I start to get a sinking feeling about all this. Some people are treating this as a spectator sport: “Go ahead! Let’s all get the popcorn while the Left devours itself!” Well, it may be oh-so amusing, but what happens if this bunch of loony Commies gets their hands on the levers of power?

Laughing my ass off.
A self-described "real Indian" who is running against Mass. Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren is suing after city officials demanded he take down his signs calling her a "fake Indian."

The upstart independent Senate challenger, Shiva Ayyadurai, on Sunday filed a federal lawsuit alleging that the demand from the city of Cambridge violates his constitutional free speech rights, according to The Washington Times.
This has to be causing some heartburn for the PC crowd: "Warren's a good socialist and a womyn, but he's a Colo- er, Person of Colour, so how can we criticize him?"

The Broward County SO: "We can't do our actual jobs, but we can harass non-threating students and loot the taxpayers real well!"

Government-run health care

In Britain the death penalty is illegal. In Britain euthanasia is illegal. In Britain 30 policeman are standing guard outside Alfie Evans’ room to ensure his court ordered death proceeds uninterrupted.
"The State will decide when your useless child dies, citizen.  Shut up and stop causing problems."

And the left wants this here.

More of the Australian Model the left loves so much

...Although the same Victrix bolt-action rifle is marketed in the US as suitable for uses including “military” and “law enforcement”, in Australia the Victrix (and similar weapons) are categorised with firearms licensed for hunting and sport.
Gun control advocates have dubbed the Victrix guns “high-powered and military-style”. They warn that an increasing range of these guns – which still have design specifications that allow them to be classified as sporting and hunting firearms – have hit the Australian market.

Gun Control Australia has called for a rewrite of weapons classifications, which the group says are outdated and do not properly codify modern hi-tech guns.
Because bolt-action rifles are just as bad to these clowns as semi-auto, and they want ALL of them banned.

But they assure us the looooove diversity

Alas, I had forgotten Owens is African-American and conservative. That admixture produced the usual assortment tolerant campus activists convinced that a successful black man simply isn’t diverse enough to speak on their campus — and he shouldn’t be telling them that hard work is the key to success. Thus, the Q&A portion of the speech went… well, predictably.

“What was your name again?” one student asked.

After Owens repeated his name, she responded, “Thought it was Tom.”
Yeah.  Because working your ass off to succeed, and telling others they can do it, makes you the House Negro to these shitstains.

Why yes, I am using bad language; these idiots earned it.
