I would like to buy this lady dinner,

if I were in Germany or she here.

Anyone who drags a climate 'protester' out of the street by their hair is someone I would feed.

I went to the outdoor range,

figuring "I can get done before it gets too hot."

Ha.

Very slight breeze, some overcast, and so humid I expected to see little frogs kicking by at chest level as they chased the mosquitos that were trying to exsanguinate me.

Yes, got some shooting done.  And this is a day I'm glad it's done.

Little men with big knives and huge balls

Gurung ignored his many wounds and carried on firing with his left hand – a considerable feat, as the bolt-action rifles of the day were made for right-handed use. "Come and fight a Gurkha!" he yelled, as wave after wave of Japanese troops tried for four hours to overrun the position. They failed. The 4th/8th Gurkhas held out for another 48 hours until relieved on 15 May.

Which reminded me of this from Quartered Safe Out Here, and I wonder if Fraser was writing of the 4th/8th?
There was another occasion when a Gurkha platoon close to us held a position against two companies of Japanese who wouldn’t take no for answer, but kept coming time and again, yelling “Banzai!”; the Gurkhas just stood fast and stopped them until the position was littered with Jap dead.

When the Gurkhas were finally withdrawn it was discovered that they hadn’t a single round of ammunition among them.

'The New Censorship'

A remarkable transvaluation has occurred since that idealistic time. In essence, the postmodern establishment Left has reversed the terms of the Jeffersonian ideal. The threat to democracy is now society—a realm of injustice and oppression, in which human wolves perpetually devour the weak. Trump and Musk stand as archetypes of the predator. They represent the authoritarian impulse, and they can manipulate the dull-minded masses, even unto insurgency, by spreading falsehoods and fake news. The pandemic showed them willing to kill with their lies, to undermine the authority of science.

Only a powerful, watchful government, in the hands of the Party of Truth, can impose democracy on a troubled society by controlling the words said, as well as the means of communication that convey them, to the public. A wise guardian class, advised by specialists, must be mobilized to assume control of politics and culture. In this framework, opposition can never be legitimate—it belongs to the Party of Lies. Those who follow Savio’s exhortation and throw themselves on the gears of the great institutions will be ground to pulp—for their own good.

Between Wray making all those bullshit excuses for not talking,

as well as flat lying under oath, the IRS and DoJ pretending the Hunter Biden investigation was honest, and now the Secret Service playing "There's not way to tell whose cocaine it was, and stop pointing to all the cameras and logs for that area!", you get the feeling they just want to rub it in people's faces that connected politicians and family can get away with just about anything.

"Well, we trashed our reputations and trust a long time ago, so we might as well double-down on buying favor from the politicians and bagment."

Lots of interesting people are trashing 'Sound of Freedom',

such as

Someone mentioned that a bunch of Democrats who used to yell about child trafficking are now spouting the 'QAnon adjacent' crap about this movie.  And yeah, I really do wonder why.  Is it a reflexive "It's right-wing so I must oppose it even if I agree with it!", or a much darker thing?

With some of them, it's darker.

When the truth is 'whatever helps the cause', you can't trust the bastards

Yahr’s article speaks to a broader phenomenon. It is yet another example of how fairly recent lesbian and gay history is being rewritten. Everything is being remoulded to fit the ‘LGBT+’ movement’s Year Zero worldview.

Singer Sam Smith has made similarly ridiculous claims about being a pioneering gay voice in pop music, seemingly unaware of the careers of those little-known, shunned artists Elton John, Freddie Mercury and George Michael.

Outside the sphere of pop music, trans activists are now being given the credit for leading the gay-rights movement. Think of the oft-repeated claim that ‘a black trans woman threw the first brick at the Stonewall riot’ in New York in 1969. In truth, the drag artist in question, by his own account, didn’t actually arrive at the Stonewall Inn until several hours later. Similarly, Dublin Pride recently photoshopped the slogan ‘trans rights are human rights’ on to a placard in a photograph of a gay-rights protest in 1983 – a feat worthy of Stalin.

Well, a lot of these asshats admire Stalin, so...

Lady I used to work with had a teacup Pomeranian.

She had health problems and said she could barely dust under the couch.
"Why dust? Spray the dog with Endust, then roll his ball back and forth under the furniture, then give him a bath."

Let's say she was not amused.

And yet more "Trust the Science/Scientists(the approved ones)!"

And, once again, "Trust them?  Why should I do that?"
“Scientists in Wuhan University are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments.”

The words - from Feb. 1, 2020, as Covid exploded worldwide - come from a note written by none other than Dr. Anthony Fauci, America’s Doctor himself. They come as Fauci and top virologists were just starting their strenuous efforts to hide and distract from the potential Chinese lab origins of Sars-Cov-2.

And after the first cover-up came the second. The National Institutes of Health hid Fauci’s words, completely redacting the email he had written from Freedom of Information Act requests. The NIH gave up the note only in response to a House of Representatives subpoena - years after Fauci wrote it, far too late.

Of all the bastards who yelled "Racists!", and damaged- sometimes destroyed- the careers of anyone who openly disagreed with their Preferred Narrative, I wonder if any of them regret the damage they did?  If no other, the damage to their own reputations and careers?

I doubt it.

For the nut-level activists, seems to have been a severe shock

And suddenly Muslim parents became all a bunch of white supremacists.

Ah, Californicated Democrats, they never fail to disappoint, do they?

California lawmakers in the Assembly Public Safety Committee on Tuesday blocked a measure that would have classified human trafficking of a minor as a serious felony under state law, an effort that attempted to keep repeat offenders behind bars and make them ineligible to be released from prison early.

The measure was halfway through the state's legislative process, having cleared the State Senate unanimously with broad, bipartisan support. None of the six Democrats on the Assembly Public Safety Committee were willing to cast a vote on the measure Tuesday. Republican Assemblymen Juan Alanis and Tom Lackey were the bill's only yes votes.

Family matters take time

When got home, one of the first things I saw from someone was 'According to AI, this is what Europeans think of Americans' by state.  I hereby state that the image for Oklahoma is quite acceptable.

7th evening, and I have

put something together for you all

Friday, July 14, 2023

For your entertainment tonight,

it being one of those evenings, I present the 6th eve gathering

Gee, if only there were some way to prevent repeat offenders

from being out on the street to repeat offend...

This is in (formerly Great)Britain, but we've got the same bullshit happening here, in particular in places with Soros prosecutors.

Speaking of trust, how'd you like to be a Secret Service agent involved

in standing there as one of your bosses tells Congress that your agency is either incompetent or corrupt?

I bet that felt good.

Now do the Dept. of Defense:
Army Secretary Christine Wormuth said she expects within weeks to begin drafting a proposal for a recruiting overhaul so sweeping that Congress might need to pass legislation to enact all of it.

Depending too much on military families could create a “warrior caste,” Wormuth said. Her plans seek to draw in people who have no real connection to the military and to broaden the appeal of service.

Three guesses on just how she plans to do that.
Rather than getting the best people or even adequately qualified people, the goal is to match the force to the census data in a completely senseless exercise so that the people they do get are 20% black, 7.2% Asian, and 0.6% American Indian, or develop a plan to get those Asians.
"Who cares about quality, we need those diversity numbers!"  Etc.

Speaking of agencies that need to be cleaned out, the CDC gets another vote

The guidance takes a truly dystopian turn in its breastfeeding guidance for men who identify as transgender. It recommends medication to induce breast milk in males so that they can pretend to be women by feeding from their nipples.

The Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine explains further in a document linked on the page. “There are many anecdotal reports and one case report of a trans woman ([male] on hormone replacement therapy) successfully inducing lactation,” the ABM says. “Bonding should be discussed as a benefit to chestfeeding and breastfeeding,” it adds, as if a man's perverted behavior creates the same biological bond a baby forms with a woman.

One of the drugs men take to become transgender, domperidone, can seep into the breast milk that the child would drink. The Food and Drug Administration has said it can cause an irregular heartbeat in infants. Doctors have warned that we have no idea how else this off-label use of lactation-inducing drugs might affect children in the long run.

It's terrible, and it's the voters getting what they voted for,

good and hard.

How do you know for fact a company is run by idiots?

When they say crap like this, it's a good indication.
...Benzinga notes slyly that the grassroots boycott that has led to the unprecedented consumer abandonment of Bud Light is hurting the common man: “This seismic shift in popularity jeopardizes the livelihoods of the 65,000 people whose economic well-being is intricately tied to Anheuser-Busch InBev’s success.”
Oh yeah, "Start buying our product again or we'll fire people(no executives, of course, but peasants like yourselves)!" is a real winner.

One of the medical instructions was "Don't lift anything heavier than ten pounds

for the next few days."

Last night I realized just how much in the house, and what I do, involves more than ten pounds.

This includes moving a box of bullets to a better place and realizing "I probably shouldn't have done that."

No new pains, no improper discharges, so I'm guessing I'm good.*

*yes, I know, famous last words

Wednesday, July 12, 2023

I'm guessing it's one of the aftereffects of anesthesia,

that "Oh my, you should sit me down on the toilet right NOW if you know what's good for you!" from your backside.

Brought to you by some of the same bastards who ruined people for daring

to bring up the possibility.
“Given the shit show that would happen if anyone serious accused the Chinese of even accidental release, my feeling is we should say that given there is no evidence of a specifically engineered virus, we cannot possibly distinguish between natural evolution and escape so we are content with ascribing it to natural processes,” Rambaut wrote.

“Yup, I totally agree that that’s a very reasonable conclusion,” Andersen responded. “Although I hate when politics is injected into science – but it’s impossible not to, especially given the circumstances.”

The circumstances being "Let's ruin anybody who points out a valid scientific conclusion, because we don't want to upset the PRC.

Lying bastards.

There is a screw missing

(Not in me, dammit.  At least not this one)
A very particular screw.

And since I'm supposed to take it easy, I'm looking for it.

It's not going well.

"We are equals! Except I'm exempt

from those silly fitness standards you have to meet."

The activists want to piss everyone else off, even if they realize how it damages their 'We just want to be treated like everyone else' claims.

Ah, the joys of the hospital

Not a biggie visit, should help with a difficulty.

And one of the meds is making me pee an alarming shade of orange.  Which I'm glad they warned me about.
Added:
If you haven't already picked some up, I will note that when the runs strike(to and on the toilet), baby wipes are wonderful.  Keep a pack in the bathroom.

Effing bleep-damned 'progressive' morons

Besides their general stupidity, they need to learn the definition of 'vigilante', which does not include 'providing evidence of a crime to the cops'.

About that culture war,

Then there’s their ultimate act of gaslighting. They will say it isn’t us who’s waging a culture war, it’s you; it’s those who question anything we say or do. So it’s not a culture war for them to unilaterally overturn millennia of human knowledge about sex and motherhood by broadcasting to the nation ‘This man is a mum’, but it is a culture war when gender-critical women say ‘No, he isn’t’. Their most brazen Orwellian gambit is to depict the critics of their identitarian hysteria as fruitcakes and loons, while applauding the man with his nipple in a kid’s mouth as a fab mum; to denounce the defenders of reason as the irrational ones, and the destroyers of reason as good, decent, ‘socially just’ activists.

If you're really surprised,

what's wrong with you?
...I'm going to interview him again. But Steven Sund was the totally non-political, worked for Nancy Pelosi, I mean this was not some right-wing activist. He was chief of the Capitol Police on January 6," he said.

"And he said, 'Yeah, yeah, that crowd was filled with federal agents.' What? 'Yes,'" Carlson added.
