According to the weather service, last night brought

almost 2" of rain. I'd rather have had it spread out over all day of light, but I'll take it. Especially since there's a couple of cracks across my yard that look like the aftermath of a earthquake.

Noting this mostly because it'll be handy for annoying the right people: yes, Woody Guthrie was a commie.

Democrats Protect Child Rapists; considering there's six Obama Truth Team clowns who voted against stronger penalties, that's more accurate than screaming "REPUBLICAN WAR ON WOMEN!!!" because of the idiot statement from Akin

Never forget: just because it's been in a zoo does not mean the big kitty is a housecat.

Take a look at this, and see if you can figure it all out: was it cartel shooters or Mexican authorities who damn near killed them?

And Borepatch is right: this should never be allowed to slip away:
R.I.P. Vicki Weaver, shot down by the FBI twenty years ago today. If Lon Horiuchi had been a better shot, he might have got her and her baby at the same time. That would have been a twofer, or something. Wonder if that gets you promoted to Special Agent.

And this is another opportunity to remind everyone that not only does Lon Horiuchi walk the land as a free man, but that he gets corporate endorsements
.

Dammit; as Owens notes, even if I had the money I couldn't buy one(thanks to gun-bigot politicians) but oh, I want one

I'd been thinking of sending you a link to Pro Liberate's post about Sara Weaver, Vicki's eldest daughter, forgiving the murderers, and their continuing indifference to the crimes they committed against the Weaver family.

Grigg is a fantastic writer, whom I have only just discovered, thanks to some excellent links posted by commenter "Atlas Aikido" here:

his other links are excellent too. just a shame about the sad little sexist troll called "git" - and a shame that I waste my time feeding it and petting it with a few slaps...

an excellent set of arguments to use on anyone who argues that taxation is not coercive http://strike-the-root.com/72/molyneux/molyneux4.html

and Bionic Mosquito, with some really well reasoned blog posts.

I'm afraid that I've been neglecting borepatch for a while. he's always thought provoking.

Open bolt guns blog is only occasionally active these days, I guess it has just about exhausted its field, but there was a recent post about the "American 180" 180 shot .22rf. including the patents.

Dick Cassull really is quite a prolific innovator.
