Last while it's been below average norms for this time of year; today by about 12 degrees, I believe the weather weenie said. And more rain; instead of brown and dry, it's green outside. For last half of August/first of September, it's nice.
Range sometime next week, I hope; got some loads to test, and I need to make sure my rifle's sighted in in case I have the chance to go be terminally rude to Bambi.
Spent the day helping friend gunsmith with some things, and talking to/playing with the family. Wife's a nurse, who's been having a string of "I want a new job. NOW." days; kids are 11 and 3. 11YOA is a boy, who's actually decided school has some redeeming qualities, 3YOA is a girl who's decided I do; at least she doesn't spend the first 45 minutes after seeing me going through the shy routine anymore.
The other day it was announced that a child molester who'd gotten a ridiculously light sentence and is about to get out is having more charges filed; seems he'd molested a couple of other kids, too. When I remember my kids when they were little, when I look at friend's kids now, I come back to the thought "Let him out; justice will be taken care of"; due process for someone who molests a child should include a rope. At the least, a post and whip.
Ever notice how all the little crap lines up so that if you don't watch it, they eat all your time?

You do understand that, at a high level of abstraction, global warming is health care reform: just another way to seize control of people.
Oh yeah, there's a reason many enviroweenies are called watermelons; green on the outside, red on the inside.
I don't know which child molester case you're referring to, but if it's the one that made national news a couple of nights ago; it seems that the dude was set up and framed. A little girl was coached into a part that made the guy look bad. The family of a girl that the man was due to marry didn't like him, so he was set up for a fall.
Don't be too quick with that rope. Gather as many facts as possible first.

I'm thinking of this one:

Definitely make sure of the facts; there's been too much bullshit of 'blame the father/uncle/whatever in a divorce' to take a lot of it for granted.
SOME species of Australian birds are shrinking and the trend will likely continue because of global warming, a scientist said.
Janet Gardner, an Australian National University biologist, led a team of scientists who measured museum specimens to plot the decline in size of eight species of Australian birds over the past century.
The research, published last week in the British journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences, found the birds in Australia’s southeast had become between 2 per cent to 4 per cent smaller.
Over the same century, Australia’s average daily temperature rose 1.3 degrees Fahrenheit (0.7 deg C), with the sharpest increase since the 1950s.
I haven't been following Australia's temps, but I do seem to remember Tim Blair noting a lot of "The globular warmering theory says this, but it's doing this moments, same as the rest of the world.
The birds are shrinking because of global warming? And how's that work? Seems like everydamnthing around gets blamed on that.
