The gunman who killed Texas SWAT Officer Jorge Pastore in a shootout that also left two hostages dead was wearing body armor and night vision goggles — and was on the FBI’s terror watchlist, according to reports.

A search warrant for the suspect’s south Austin home — the scene of Saturday’s deadly shootout — unearthed bomb-making materials inside, calling for help from the FBI’s Evidence Recovery Team(possibly to let them hide evidence?), according to KXAN.

And, just to round out the picture,
Neither the suspect nor the dead hostages had been officially identified as of early Wednesday.

However, a local organization called the Round Rock Area Muslims said they were all family members of a “beloved brother” who was well-known in the local community.
This has got to be one of the most useless groups of people in law enforcement.  How many terrorists does this make they 'had on their radar', something with actual knowledge they were about to do something, and the assholes sat back and did nothing?  Except maybe watch it happen?

The CDC has just reported that more parents than ever are getting vaccine exemptions for their children entering Kindergarten. For many of us who have witnessed the CDC’s repeated blunders with kids COVID19 vaccines, this result is entirely predictable. The CDC has lost the trust of the American people, and it will keep getting worse.
Yes, it will. A lot of these are tested, working vaccines, but the morons in charge scared and infuriated enough people("Your child must wear a mask!  They can't go to school!  Your kid must have the covid vaccine even if it is improperly/incompletely tested and has problems!"  Etc.) that it's causing doubts on others that are pretty safe and actually work.

A lot of kids and families are going to suffer because of this.

One rifle I've been messing with shoots the best using Federal Large Rifle Magnum Match.  Which is more of a sasquatch than the other large rifle have been.  Did have a brick of CCI Large Magnum, and gave them a try.  They all went bang, but not nearly as consistent in this rifle.  I've got some left, but if I see some of the Federal in the wild, there better not be anyone between me and that brick.

Speaking of shooty stuff, over at TTAG there was a discussion of cleaning suppressors, and I asked if anyone had tried a way I read of years ago: 
Have a stand to hold it vertical.  Put a rubber plug in one end, set it upright, and fill it with your chosen cleaner.  Take an aquarium bubbler(the kind used in small aquariums or large fishbowls), run it down to the bottom, then turn on the pump and leave it for a while.  Idea is the bubbling works the solvent all through it.  Turn it off, pull the bubbler, and dump the solvent in a suitable place, flush with some fresh, then either leave it in open air to dry or use an air hose to speed up the process.

Three people broke into the unmarked parked Secret Service vehicle while the agents were protecting Naomi Biden during a trip to Georgetown, according to The AP. One agent opened fire on the individuals though no one was hit by the gunfire.

Also, someone asked today, "How come a Biden grandkid has the Secret Service protecting them, but a Presidential candidate does not?"
Because said candidate is giving Biden and the Dem Party trouble, that's why.  And they don't care if we know.

An example of FBI misdirecting its resources is the disturbing case of an Alaska man, Brogan T. Welsh, who allegedly distributed child pornography and expressed disgusting fantasies online about anally raping male children.

The FBI had Welsh in its sights and was set to bring charges against him. Even one week before Jan. 6, 2021, the man they believe is Welsh was trying to get a sex date with a prepubescent boy online.

But the FBI but dropped the case on Jan. 6, 2021, according to the FBI’s Statement of Facts to the court. It had more important things to investigate – Trump supporters.

How many other cases of equal or greater severity have been dropped by the FBI in favor of targeting politically active Americans?

Hey, they didn't care about lots of gymnasts being raped at a university, what makes you think they'll give a crap about a child molester when they can chase political undesirables for bullshit charges?
