At this point in winter, I need something to remind me of warmer weather

thus the new batch of data

Anybody else remember this mascot?

Here's what he was riding today
Motorcycle show at the fairgrounds; some more pics to follow

Nanny Bloomberg doesn't like it

when people hear about this, sure as hell doesn't want people watching him say it.
Various national media outlets jumped on the pointed comments, for both the pro-gun control sentiment and the racial aspect

Perhaps because of that response, Bloomberg, who founded the massive Bloomberg L.P. media empire, has asked both the Aspen Institute and GrassRoots TV, the company that filmed the event, to refrain from broadcasting footage of the talk, according to Summit Daily.
Just in case you haven't heard about this, the part that got the most attention(then) was
At the Institute’s Feb. 5 event, the pro-gun control multi-billionaire suggested keeping guns out of the hands of young, male minorities.

Ninety-five percent of murders are attributed to the group, said Bloomberg, who has spend tens of millions of dollars on various gun control initiatives, including the group Everytown for Gun Safety.
Rendered in the manner in which Mommies Want and Everytown believe it spoken it the South, that would be "We gotta keep them young coloreds from gettin' guns!"  But spoken by a good progressive like Bloomberg, it's all good.

And now we can add in this gem:
During his talk, Bloomberg also discussed “stop-and-frisk,” a policing practice he advocated and expanded during his mayoral tenure. He said that one way to deal with the issue of gun proliferation among young, minority males is to “throw them up against the wall and frisk them.”
Because what's the 4th Amendment think it is, that it should get in the way of what Lord Bloomberg desires?

And never mind that oath he took about upholding the Constitution, that doesn't count.

Yes, ATF is at it again

All for public safety, of course.
In a move clearly intended by the Obama Administration to suppress the acquisition, ownership and use of AR-15s and other .223 caliber general purpose rifles, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives unexpectedly announced today that it intends to ban commonplace M855 ball ammunition as “armor piercing ammunition.” The decision continues Obama’s use of his executive authority to impose gun control restrictions and bypass Congress.

It isn’t even the third week of February, and the BATFE has already taken three major executive actions on gun control. First, it was a major change to what activities constitute regulated “manufacturing” of firearms. Next, BATFE reversed a less than year old position on firing a shouldered “pistol.” Now, BATFE has released a “Framework for Determining Whether Certain Projectiles are ‘Primarily Intended for Sporting Purposes’ Within the Meaning of 18 U.S.C. 921(a)(17)(c)”, which would eliminate M855’s exemption to the armor piercing ammunition prohibition and make future exemptions nearly impossible.
Any doubts that these clowns practice saying "I am the LAW!" and laughing?

I'm too tired for fancy language,

just go over the data

At the range with a SVD

and some ammo commentary.

Yes, Lucky Gunner has 7N1 ammo.  By the can only, and $300 per.  Won't be trying any for a while.

Remember seeing some Gestapo agent demanding "Papers, please", and being disgusted?

The TSA thinks it's a fine idea.  And want it shoved down our throats.

I think it's a fine idea to fire every jerk in government involved in this crap.  Especially Mr. "I think flying is a privilege" Pistole who's the head of the bastards.

"Why are the Saudis doing it?

Because they can afford to, and it's punishing people they're mad at."

The PROPER response would've been "Learn the language before you lose it

and look like a farging idiot to anyone who does. "
The Army has deleted a tweet posted Thursday afternoon referring to “chinks” in the armor of its Special Operations capabilities after receiving numerous accusations of racism.

The tweet read: “Chinks in special ops’ digital and physical armor poses challenges, experts say.”
But noooo, they wimped out and changed it.  Because someone got hurt feelings.

Speaking of PC idiocy,  at this point I think the only save for Britain might involve a bunch of politicians and commissars('public officials', supposedly, and I do include some of the cops) being tarred and feathered.  Maybe clubbed.  A few certainly hanged.
These cases of pedophilia, rape, and sexual abuse were well known to police and social services long before the reports and the arrests. In 2008, one of the Rochdale victims, then 15, went to the police and social workers providing DNA evidence to back up her story of being gang-raped. Twice the police refused to prosecute. She continued to be raped by up to five men a night, four or five nights a week. Rotherham police received 157 reports in 2013 concerning sexual exploitation though the police were receiving evidence dating back to 2002, all of which was ignored or suppressed.

The government has failed these girls because it’s racially and culturally inconvenient to help them. The rapists are Muslim, and the majority of the victims are white. In the UK, racial sensitivity is so high that the mere accusation of racism could end a public servant’s career. And the political class promotes political correctness and multiculturalism at any cost.
No, I'm not kidding.  These bastards are LETTING rapists and pimps and slavers operate, sometimes pretty openly, and doing not a damn thing because 'muslim'.  If they're this PC-at-any-cost or this chickenshit, they need to be removed from those positions and replaced with people who actually believe 'Nobody is above or below the law.'

Because otherwise, at some point a bunch of people are going to say "Screw this, if the law is fixed for the bad guys, why should we follow it?" and start acting.  They'll be called names and threatened; problem is that that's being done now just for talking about the problems.  So...

Yeah, it's kind of hard to call it 'Fox News fever-dreams'* when

President Lightbringer really IS- still- hanging around with domestic terrorists.

And no wonder he didn't spend much time on that murdered hostage; with so much golfing to get in, and old friends to visit with...

I've got friends who love and trust NPR for news; they may not care about this crap, but I do.
In this case, the competing social and constitutional demand is the control of hate speech in the interests of social cohesion, without which the very idea of a nation is impossible. Look at the sectarian bloodbath that is the Middle East. Or look at the tensions in China, Myanmar, Ukraine, Nigeria, the Balkans, and elsewhere. Nothing guarantees that different peoples can live together, or that nations will remain as we know them…

I do not know if American courts would find much of what Charlie Hebdo does to be hate speech unprotected by the Constitution, but I know—hope?—that most Americans would. It is one thing to lampoon popes, imams, rabbis and other temporal religious leaders of this world; it is quite another to make fun, in often nasty ways, of their prophets and gods. The NPR editors were right not to reprint any of the images.
Yeah, who cares about that damned 1st Amendment when we've got social cohesion to work on?

And dumbass actually thinks allowing people to ban speech that troubles them about 'their prophet or god' would bring more cohesion?  What kind of idiots work at NPR?

*It's the Gawker post Ace links to that uses that phrase.  And others.

Even for one of Holders' minions,

this is a demonstration of either stupid, or of "I don't care."
The recipient of the tongue lashing? Deputy Assistant Attorney General Kenneth Blanco. During questioning from House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, Blanco admitted that he had not even read the Inspector General report that was a key part of the subcommittee’s meeting.

Frustrated subcommittee chairman Jim Sensenbrenner said he was ”absolutely shocked” that Blanco would come as the Department of Justice’s witness without having read the report.

This is some incredible video

of the sun

"I don't hate men, but

I aborted my male fetus, because patriarchy!  And it was liberating!"

It's... amazing, isn't it?

And anyone else have real doubts about her 'violation' on the airplane?

"We got to keep guns away from those colored people."  Take away the "I'm concerned" and 'Public Safety" crap, and that's what he's saying.

Of course, he doesn't care much about the 4th Amendment either; it was a problem for ordering 'his army' to search people at will.

Either they're so worried about polls that lives don't matter, or

Obama and Jarret really don't want to rescue hostages from ISIL.
According to Herridge, there was very specific intelligence about the location of a group of Western hostages in May 2014, so specific that intelligence officials even knew in which building they were being held.

"The question is why there was such a delay by the White House to act on this information," Herridge said. "They did not OK the rescue operation until about seven weeks later. And there was clearly a fundamental disconnect between the quality of the intelligence, which the rescue team felt was of a sufficient level that they could act, and what was described to me as a significant delay on behalf of the White House, asking for the intelligence to build up further before they would act."

Herridge said that this was the last and best opportunity to rescue all of the hostages together, because after ISIS learned of the possible raid, the hostages were no longer held together.
You'll recall they didn't want to whack bin Laden.  And another hostage was missed because of this kind of delay.

If it'd been Obama dealing with the Barbary pirates, he'd have been in favor of paying protection money and ransoming hostages forever rather than fight them.

This will stir things up

In a huge victory for supporters of gun rights, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas Fort Worth Division issued a ruling Wednesday declaring the federal ban on interstate transfers of handguns unconstitutional. The 28-page opinion in the case of Frederic Russell Mance, Jr. against Attorney General Eric Holder, Jr. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive Director B. Todd Jones was signed by United States District Judge Reed O’Connor.
From what I understand this is certain to go to the next step, probably all the way to the Supremes.  But it is a step in the right direction.

It appears that buying any of the many standard magazines

is considered non-civil resistance by control freaks like Murphy.

I need to scrape up some money and buy more.

"Who are you peasants to judge a Journalist!

Do YOU have a degree?  Just because he lied a few times, what makes you think that's actually a problem?"  Etc.

This boils down to "We want to do the minimum to look like I'm actually trying to stop ISIL, while not actually stopping them."  Throw in “No matter how long it takes, the United States will find and bring to justice the terrorists who are responsible for Kayla’s captivity and death,” President Obama said in a statement., and you've got the mess: these people are expanding, gaining recruits, continuing the mass murder/crucifixions/slave-trading, and all the rest, and this idiot seems to think he can send some cops over to the region to arrest 'the' people responsible.  And then give them lawyers to argue how horrible the US is in a trial, etc.

Obama & Co. don't want to actually 'degrade' ISIL, let alone destroy it; they want to look like they're trying, because that's all that really counts.

Speaking of, there was this crap the other day.  "This was a random attack."
"A muslim attacked a kosher deli and killed Jews, and you're calling it random?"
"He didn't know their NAMES, so yes, it was random and you need to shut up and stop asking questions."
After which, when they fully realized how effing stupid they sounded, they announce "Of course it was anti-semitic!"

Remember the idiot in Austin?

(shut up, I'm narrowing it down)The one who'd voted for every tax increase for every idiot project/idea/whatever the city council wanted, and had just discovered that she could no longer afford to live there?

Well, meet another one.  Who's got a lot of company the media doesn't want to talk about.
...After all, she’d supported President Obama and the act as a matter of principle.

Ms. Pineman, who is self-employed, accepted that she’d have to pay higher premiums for a plan with a narrower provider network and no out-of-network coverage. She accepted that she’d have to pay out of pocket to see her primary care physician, who didn’t participate. She even accepted having co-pays of nearly $1,800 to have a cast put on her ankle in an emergency room after she broke it while playing tennis.

But her frustration bubbled over when she tried to arrange a follow-up visit with an orthopedist in her Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield network: The nearest doctor available who treated ankle problems was in Stamford, Conn. When she called to protest, her insurer said that Stamford was 14 miles from her home and 15 was considered a reasonable travel distance. “It was ridiculous — didn’t they notice it was in another state?” said Ms. Pineman, 46, who was on crutches.

She instead paid $350 to see a nearby orthopedist and bought a boot on Amazon as he suggested. She has since forked over hundreds of dollars more for a physical therapist that insurance didn’t cover, even though that provider was in-network.
So, 'on principle' she was willing to pay MORE for WORSE insurance with HIGHER deductibles... and now she's whining that she got exactly what her principles support?

Idiots.

And the food police are announcing "Yeah, we were full of crap.

You can eat eggs.  And cholesterol doesn't appear to be as big a deal as we thought."
No shit?

Looks like they're hedging on cholesterol.  Probably because flatly announcing "We've been lying to you due to bad science for decades" they just couldn't bring themselves to do.

You want dietary recommendations?  When the doc or anyone else starts the "Don't eat meat/eggs/dairy/fats", tell them to kiss your ass.  And have some bacon.

The terrorists best friend-

maybe second-best- is the Chamberlain who refuses to name the terrorist as such

Think he'll wave a paper when he announces 'Peace in Our Time with the Random Zealots'?
