It can never be forgotten: Sen. Chuck Schumer(SDP-NY)

is not only the enemy, but a happy violator of of that troublesome oath he swore:

Under the plan endorsed by Schumer and Bloomberg, states and federal authorities would be required to increase the percentage of denied gun permit applicants to the national gun database. The penalty for not reporting would be a loss of federal funding for crime prevention.

Not required to make sure the data in the database is more accurate and up to date, but to just deny more people the right to purchase a gun, with no regard to accuracy? They call the proposal “modest.” If their Thesaurus has the word “stupid” next to “modest,” I might buy that.

Credit where credit is due, I like that.

Without acting out the "are you the Peoples Front of Judea" "Fuck off we're the Judean people's Front" sketch: I don't visit Sebastian's place very often. Has he changed his tune about gunwalker yet?

I think he's mentioned it, and that's about it.

Kid of weird; last I saw Drudge still had said nothing on it, and while I've listened some the last few days I don't think either Limbaugh or Beck has mentioned it, and this is the kind of thing they should be all over.

I know there is no love lost between Mike and David on the one side and Sebastian and Bitter on the other, which might go some way to explain Sebastian's damning the "allegations" with faint praise.

I'm surprised at Limbaugh and Beck though.

With the WaPo and NYT; not so much.

Mike and David have really achieved something by getting the story this far. I think this ranks at least as high as climategate in the list of blogger achievements, all the more so for the small size of their team.

I'm commenting about it in one or two places (friends from college days and the like) where the guys aren't particularly gunny and in some cases (as Brits and Paddies living in the US) wouldn't want to loose their visas by being associated with Mike's blog.

I can't remember who it was who drew my attention to Mike's essay "Waco rules versus Romanian rules" on David's "War on guns" a few years back. I've quietly followed his writing ever since.

However Slick Willy and the SPLC try to paint him turd colour, he comes out of this and out of Prof Churchill's work (well worth reading) as a bloody good bloke. Who knows, If I'm ever in that part of Alabama, I'd like to buy him a coffee, or something stronger.
