and I finally have an actual use for him. First, what started this:
Vice President Biden called the manager
of a custard shop outside of Milwaukee, Wis., a "smartass" after the man asked him to lower taxes.
After realizing that A: this would get out and B: just how it would reveal what he thinks of those nasty peasants who won't keep in their place,
The manager said later in an interview with WISN that he thought Biden didn’t seem happy initially about the taxes comment, but that the vice president later whispered that he was just kidding.
Kidding. Yeah. Well, here's the use: I just helped Dad dig out a hole, cut a partly-rotted post, enlarge the hole so we could put in a steel plate and screw jack and lift the porch corner to replace the post with some cement blocks, and with a little digging I think Biden would help fill the hole.
And to anybody catching their breath and saying "Can you believe he actually wrote this?", the only other actual use for Biden- besides fill- is the fact that he opens his mouth and lets the truth about what he and his master think of us out.
Thanks to Dick for messing up my mood at the end of what had been a happy and productive weekend

I am shocked. You should know better, sir.
Dead meat rots and leave voids. This is why honest inspectors will never pass a concrete structure riddled with immured corpses. No number of rebars can compensate.
Biden would be a terrible footing for your porch. Your steel plate and concrete blocks are much better choices.
Now, good, well-rotted compost, on the other hand, is an entirely different affair, but I'd only use Biden on decorative plants, never for a food crop. Who knows what diseases and parasites he might be contaminated with?
DJ's right, it would make for poor foundations, and, What a waste of useful resources!
Fat, boiled out, then boiled with sodium hydroxide gives you soap to wash your hands with and glycerine - used in throat pastels and some other very useful things...
bones, soaked with slaked lime for a year then boiled give gelatine - used as a catalyst when making hydrazine.
partly baked bone makes a mild carburizing mix for colour case hardening.
The mineral bits of bones and teeth, baked to get rid of remaining organics, then boiled with sulphuric acid, give you phosphoric acid - parkerizing. if you heat that good and hot with charcoal (and keep the air out) phosphorus distills out. - matches.
Hogs and hens like the protein and if you compost their crap and pee (with a good supply of oxygen), then leach it with hot water and do several crystalizations, you get saltpeter to use in curing bacon.
if you keep the air out of the composting, then heat it with lime, you get ammonia - cleans copper out of bores - ammong other uses - like using gelatine as a catalyst...
I've just had the 10% of this house's cat population give demonstrations of projectile vomitting - from a high firing position.
I wonder what foul ingredients went into the tin of food to give that result?
oh, there was lots of gelatine there too.
