I had the chance to pick up(Merry Christmas to ME!) some Berry's 200-grain plated .308 bullets.  I've heard they work well for subsonic loads in .300 Blackout, so I'll see.

Here are the bullets in question

Left to right, Hornady 190-grain Sub-X, the Midway blemished which I think are Sierra Matchkings, and the Berry's 200-grain plated.

Lyman has data for the Berry's in the latest manual, so I'll be starting from there.

I'll add more to this later.  Right now, the knees were fine when I got up.  Then came PT and being out in the cold... right now if I sit a while and stand up, they hurt.  I walk around much, they hurt.  I'm going to put them up for a while and see if that eases things.

I really want to find out the velocity, and try them at longer distance.  Best I can tell, the bullets are Sierra Matchkings, and I cannot find what made them seconds.

Assuming I live that long,

(not really a joke), if by next fall these joints haven't healed up enough that every front that comes through doesn't make them start up again, I may have to move somewhere a bit warmer.  It's finding one that would be less troublesome in winter without being bloody awful in summer.  I can handle heat better than cold generally, but there are limits.

Which brings me to this bit of health information:

• The CDC has released new charts with higher BMIs to follow the growth of children who are severely obese.
• The previous BMI chart for children, published in 2000, is based on data from 1963 to 1980 but obesity and severe obesity in children have increased significantly since the ’80s.
• More than 4.5 million children and teenagers had severe obesity in 2018, according to the CDC.

Often no recess in school, kids not going out to play, and throw in two years of them being DISCOURAGED from going outside... oh yes, things are going swimmingly.

Some journalists were sending out live information on where Elon Musk's plane was,

which sounds like someone playing "Here he is, will someone rid us of this troublesome man?"  They were suspended, causing they and their little friends to scream and wail.  Note that this was after some asshat blocked the car Musk's kid was in and jumped on the hood.*

I think I've mentioned Taylor Lorenz before.  She goes on tv and cries about how mean the online world has been to her, yet she doxxes people and, in one case I read of, went to and harassed family members.  Someone contacted Musk about her crap, and guess what?

The wailing continues, and will for some time to come.  Because they can't get away with this crap on Twitter anymore, and that's 'an attack on free speech'.

In the 2016 election I once said that I'd be happy to see Trump win just to watch the leftists heads explode.  Well, Musk buying Twitter and starting a cleanup is just as entertaining.

My sympathies are somewhat limited for these people, because

First, I'll bet most of them were just dandy about gun control until it turned out to bite them in the ass.

Second, why yes, if you spent part of that year rioting, burning, and looting, maybe trying to burn down buildings with people in them, then SURPRISE!  That WILL affect the .gov decision on you wanting a gun.

As they say, "So much woke concern trolling in one story."  Which, considering the "Oh woe!, what if the government doesn't want me to have a gun?" crap, makes the horror of 'ghost guns' even more stupid.
