the current, "Take it and when you get sick it won't be as bad!"
Add that onto the list of side-effects that an awful lot of authorities don't want to talk about, and they wonder why people don't trust them...

While I was out starting to parboil, I did try some of the Steve Brooks
bullets. Some were ok, a couple blah, and then this:Which is the tightest group I've ever fired from this rifle. The first four are under 2", the last, which I think I pulled opened it up to a touch over 3.5". Oh yes, I will be trying this combination again; if it gets reasonably close to the first four again, I will get up and dance by the bench.
Another ammo tryout
I was able to get to an outdoor range for a while before it got too hot, and the stuff from Widener's today is some Hornady Black 300 Blackout, this using the 110-grain V-Max bullet.
This was just a short tryout using a AR-15. It impressed. No failures*, and this is what it did at 100 yards:
Not bad at all. Again, no Chrony, the box says 2375fps at the muzzle, I saved a few rounds, next time I'll try it at 200 and see what we get.*Yeah, with modern ammo you should expect that; it's nice when it happens
Translation from bureaucrat(which is the same language the world over):
"We'll gather information and decide if action is needed" = "We're not going to do squat."
Rampaging wild boars weighing more than 30 stone are attacking lambs and must be culled, Scottish farmers have said.
Steven MacKenzie, a Highland gamekeeper, said he had shot a boar double the normal size as it attacked one of his ewes. He believes extra protein from devouring farm animals explains why wild boars are increasing in size.

A Scottish government spokesman said: “We will continue to collate information on the distribution and impact of feral pigs in Scotland and consider whether any further action is required.”

Combine a decent workout yesterday
with not quite enough sleep, add a fairly intense PT session this morning, and I don't want to get up.
I'll have to, but I don't want to.
I'll have to, but I don't want to.
Looks like that story on '10 year-old rape victim had to leave the state for treatment!' Updataed
is bullshit. This is my shocked face.
And it seems that 'lived experience' doesn't count if you're not supporting the Preferred Narrative. Especially if were rushed into sex-change treatments and found it was a big mistake.
Update:
A little girl WAS raped. By an illegal alien. And the doctor who treated her did NOT report it to the police, but the bastard was finally found and arrested. The AG of Ohio says yes, she could have had an abortion in the state.
So how long has this shit been going on? And how many other raped children did this 'doctor' not report? And what else don't we know yet?

On those Dutch farmer protests, the plot thickens
And guess who's involved?
Summary so far: Nitrogen Policy Minister Christianne van der Wal-Zeggelink is married to the ultra-wealthy family who own the Supermarket chain Boni. Together with other ‘climate change’ investors including Bill and Melinda Gates, Boni funds online supermarket Picnic. Sales from Picnic or Boni directly increase the wealth of the Dutch Nitrogen Policy Minister. Picnic also sells the engineered food that Bill Gates promotes.
The current owner and CEO of Picnic is a man named Michiel Muller. Mr. Muller is a Dutch entrepreneur, climate change activist and self-described visionary, who intends to “change the entire food system, eliminate waste” and be in line with sustainable energy goals and the climate change agenda [Video citation @14:21].
Additionally, a great deal of the money from the investment rounds is going toward building a robotic warehouse and automated Picnic distribution center which aligns with the free online grocery ordering system. {another citation}
With all of these associations, business interests and financial aspects in mind, Dutch Nitrogen Minister Christianne van der Wall-Zeggelink has a direct financial conflict-of-interest in the advancement of sustainable supermarket and online grocery operations. Specifically, those operators who are the beneficiaries of not only her nitrogen elimination regulation, but also the direct investment from her family.

I'll bet the nasty connections are also there in other countries, thus more reason for German and other farmers to join in.
This should get interesting.

Sort-of range report
I mentioned once that I'd had the chance to fire five rounds through a S&W Shield Plus with a red dot, and really liked it. Well, this weekend had the chance to put a box of 9mm through a Shield Plus with just the iron sights.
Yowza. Compared to the earlier Shield, the Plus has a flat-face trigger that breaks much cleaner, and the slightly more rounded grip fits my hand a lot better. It shot very well for me. No saved target, unfortunately, I can say I could shoot it much better than the earlier, and that trigger gets a lot of the credit.

The thing was fairly new, and I'd hate to have to load the magazines without a loader(as a side point, I'd almost kiss the ass of the guy who came up with the Uplula for pistols).
One box doesn't really prove anything except this thing has real promise.

Remember Ray Epps? And all the dodging by the feds about him?
Someone did a FOIA request asking for information on why Ray Epps was removed from the fed’s Jan 6 wanted list.
It was denied.
The reason for the complete denial is interesting.
...
They can’t release info on Epps because it was a government operation?

This is the kind of case that should have everyone from the field agents to the idiot prosecutors
being cited for stupidity. At the least. As he says, since these people have been prosecuted for PICTURES of this part, and the news is showing the pictures, how long before some idiot decides they should be cited for 'endangering the public' or something?
There are a bleepload of easily 'triggered' idiots out there,
aided by administrators either equally stupid or too cowardly to tell them the knock it off. and it's ruining education. What happens when, instead of students going to college who need remedial damn-near-everything, the fools in charge say 'Remedial education is racist/sexist/whatever!' and just start them in classes?
In some cases they'll get rid of grades, or otherwise make sure those unprepared kids cannot fail, which will mean the degree they're issued at the end is worthless. Oh yeah, that'll work. Look how well it's worked for all those Gender/fill in the blank/ Studies majors who whine about not being able to pay their loans...
The reason behind such tyranny came into focus for me when Condolezza Rice, former secretary of state and current director of the Hoover Institution at Stanford, told me she’d shared with her students that the capture of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (9/11’s architect) had felt like “having Erwin Rommel under lock and key.” The blank looks on the faces of her very bright students revealed that they had never heard of WWII’s famous Desert Fox.
Until then, I’d traced the enmity to activists like Jackson and Hannah-Jones. Now, I could see that it also stemmed from students having swapped an education for indoctrination. Those enlisted as social justice warriors had avoided the lessons of history, missed out on refining skills that might have allowed them to judge assertions and denied themselves the insights required to make wise trade-offs.
Hey, wanting them to actually learn history, let alone make trade-offs, is racist, didn't he know?

Wonder why this isn't a big deal in the news?
On Wednesday, as Breitbart News reported, the Richmond Police Department announced the arrests of Guatemalan nationals 52-year-old illegal alien Julio Alvardo Dubon and 38-year-old illegal alien Rolman Balacarcel Ac for allegedly plotting a mass shooting at the city’s July 4th celebration.
And I wonder if any of our Professional Journalists will ask President Gropey about this?

Ah, Fecesbook, you never fail to disappoint.
Another 24-hour ban for violating 'community standards', whatever the hell they actually are. In this case someone asked why we've got Handmaid cosplayers screaming about- well, ANYTHING that involves frustrating whatever current cause, so they scream about treading on women, but they never say a bleeping word about Islamic countries where women are truly, and violently trodden on.
'Because you protest and scream and vandalize a church, maybe burn it down, you might go to jail, but if they piss off the islamists they might get killed.'
That somehow involves 'calling for violence, advocating violence', etc. Utter bullshit.
That somehow involves 'calling for violence, advocating violence', etc. Utter bullshit.
So what do we have this morning? How about Australia and Canada and Holland taking lessons from each other in shitting on their citizens for daring to protest?
The Bayou man points out that it's possible that monument in Georgia wasn't bombed, it was hit with some type of rocket. The video he links to looks like it. And that might explain "Knock it down before some actual reporter looks at it too close!"
The leftist war on self-defense. Us peasants are supposed to depend on the State, even when it doesn't show in time, or at all.
Looks like when Japanese police searched the assassin's home they found more homemade guns. Wonder how the Professional Journalists will try to spin that against us owning firearms?

And now, the weather weenie's '20% chance of scattered' having turned into 'severe storms
and enough rain to really soak things', me having braved the trip home through the end of it and only getting a little wet(that Honda fairing does a pretty good job of deflecting things), I shall now present the sixth nights' material.
The former Prime Minister of Japan was murdered
by a guy using a homemade shotgun powered with black powder and fired with batteries.

Expect some Democrats to demand ID and registration for anyone buying pipe, duct tape, and batteries.
Oh, this could get interesting
A fresh U.S. Supreme Court gun-rights ruling should make a 78-year-old law regulating machine guns unconstitutional and invalidate a YouTube celebrity’s gun-crime indictment with an Orange Park man, his lawyers are arguing.
Some people said part of the fallout would be going after the NFA, and it begins.

Maher has been taking on the trans lobby lately,
and it's kind of wonderful. I imagine the trans lobby hates him for saying all this.
This mess SHOULD be questioned. Loudly. As he says, 'We're experimenting on KIDS', and that can't be allowed to just pass by.

This bad. Including
