Warp drive.

Maybe workable.

Oh yeah....

And it makes me remember A Wrinkle In Time

Sometimes I really, really hope the idea of reincarnation is the way things actually work. If that happens I'd love to come back and see it. Or maybe even take part in it. Explore, study, colonize... and I really, really hope too that if warp drive or something else is possible humans won't screw things up and just end up stagnating in the cradle, we are not supposed to live like that, we are supposed to go forth and conquer. :)

Looking at the energy supply you'd need (how much mass does an H bomb convert to energy - about 3% or so?)

which translates to t an absolute minimum about 30 tons or more of tritium fuel (assuming that you can even harness the energy from the fusion reaction).

I get the feeling that the fuel stores and the launch point shouldn't be any closer to Earth than Mars

even then, from an orbit at the far side of Mars, when Mars is on the opposite side of the Sun from Earth.

If it all goes horribly wrong, the momentary sight of two Suns in the sky could be quite interesting.
