Michael Williamson has a recurring post on why people hate leftists*,

things like this have to be at the top of the list:
A longtime aide to former President Joe Biden admitted that White House staff felt justified doing “undemocratic things” during his term in office because they believed President Donald Trump posed an existential threat to American democracy.

The revelation came during an appearance by Axios reporter Alex Thompson on “Fox News Sunday” with Shannon Bream, where he discussed insider accounts from his reporting on the Biden administration. Thompson described a mindset inside the White House — one in which unelected aides saw themselves as the real decision makers while shielding Biden from scrutiny and managing the presidency behind the scenes.

“If you believe — and I think a lot of these people do sincerely believe — that Donald Trump was and is an existential threat to democracy, you can rationalize anything, including sometimes doing undemocratic things,” Thompson said.

'Undemocratic things', you ask?
Thompson also cited a quote from his reporting in which a longtime Biden aide openly admitted the president “just had to win, and then he could disappear for four years.”

“He’d only have to show proof of life every once in a while,” the aide reportedly told Thompson. “His aides could pick up the slack.”

Translation:
"We use him as a front, and WE run the country!"

Can you say 'Hang the bastards'?  I knew you could.

Before I try to get some things done, some political stuff

Starting with, the Mayor of Seattle should be either charged with or sued for his violation of 1st Amendment rights.  He's a piece of garbage.

Left-wing 'fact check'.

'Bout covers it

Right now, both on politics and 'journalism', is watching journalists who took orders to cover up Biden's condition, for years, now whining that Biden's staff lied to them and wouldn't let them know anything.  And don't ask why they didn't investigate any of the stuff they'd seen and heard, because they say so, and give us money for not having done our job then.
Oh, and respect us because our job is hard!

Every one of the bastards should be fired, except their editors and bosses are just as complicit and won't do it.

Some gunny stuff on a rainy day

Wirecutter linked to this collection of kabooms.  That last being a demonstration of why you give a misfire some time before you screw with things.

Keep in mind that the current state of those parts of the current budget deal have changed, and might still change, we'll see what happens.  Be sure to let your congresscritter know you're watching them.

There used to be a joke about the New York Times, if they got word the world would end

tomorrow their headline would be "World Ending; Women and Minorities Hardest Hit."

Their favorite terrorist supporters and Jew haters have a new hero, who murdered two people because they're Jews*, and the big worry by the NYeffingTimes is "How will this hurt all the people calling for dead Jews but who haven't committed any attacks yet?"

As has been said, they would be ashamed of themselves, if they had any shame.

Remember what I said the other day about 'Carry, whenever and wherever you can'?

The left and the terrorist supporters(as if there's much difference any more) is making it plain they think these murders are to be taken as examples.

ANY murder of someone who's a Disapproved Person.
Note this shithead is backing off of her outright praise.  Which makes her a chickenshit as well.

Another.

Lots of this out there, from those open about it and those who couch it in what they figure to be deniable terms.

Wherever/whenever you can, carry.  Because there's no we to know when the next one will do his 'Praise me, I'm a martyr!' crap.

Oh yes, things are picking up

Asshat murdered two Israeli embassy people, said asshat being a member of Party for Socialism and Liberation.  Rather an interesting racist past too.

This caused a man to remind us of something:
Yeah, an awful lot of leftists cheering on murder.

Speaking of, a roundup of some of this noise, which is getting louder.

Folks, my personal opinion is that if you normally carry for self-defense, good; if you don't, you'd better consider carrying everywhere and when you legally can.  Probably with a reload or two.  Because some of this crap is going to get worse, probably in a lot of places.

With their Prime Minister Two-Tier leading the surrender

Britain pressed to give away fishing grounds permanently in return for the right to accept EU laws and courts permanently.
 You couldn't make it up.

You might remember this little two-faced socialist as recently acting as if he were going to reduce migration into Britain; now he'll probably say something like "I did try, but my masters in the EU told me to do this instead."

Mr. Steyn has several of the current marks of surrender by European countries, such as
There Mr Galloway is at odds with the rest of the Internet, which seems to have concluded unanimously that he's the latter. In the legacy media, one is struck by the all the Fleet Street dogs not barking. After all, two properties and one former motor vehicle of the PM have just been rather seriously firebombed, allegedly by a twenty-one-year-old Ukrainian "male model" with minimal English-language skills. At the very least, surely, this raises security questions, no?

On the face of it, yes. It was "counter-terrorism" officers who took down a second suspect at Luton Airport attempting to leave the country. This chap is twenty-six. That's all we've been told. Another "male model"?

It's beginning to feel a bit like the initial reports, two years ago, about a certain BBC presenter being harassed over some lad he'd been corresponding with - in which the alert listener had the vague feeling every media grandee knew what was really going on but they had all agreed not to tell anyone. ...

Once upon a time, leftie women would have agreed with Eva. My opponent at the Munk Debate in Toronto, Louise Arbour, was the first UN commissioner to prosecute rape as a war crime. But that was then, and this is now. And all across the west the political class has accepted that a certain number of our most vulnerable women and children have to be sacrificed to the volcano gods of diversity. On the Continent Eva is one of a very few to speak out against this disgusting indifference - which increasingly wipes out whatever moral claims we might make to the superiority of our "values".

And, from the Germany working its way back to proper "Shut up, villagers" territory,
Yet the most significant development from the Remigration Summit was not on stage. En route to Milan, eight German attendees were prevented by police from boarding their flights - on the grounds that, to permit these six men and two women to exit the Fourth Reich and pass through the New & Improved Berlin Wall to the world beyond, would create a "significant risk of damage to the reputation of the Federal Republic".

Ain't it just freakin' wonderful?

I do have to wonder what Starmer's payoff for tossing all those commoners to the rabid EU is?

My, isn't this all interesting timing?

Here's the whole post.

God, this is such a damn mess.  We've got crooked politicians, crooked journalists, then the release of the Hur recordings showing just how bad Biden's interview was, and now this.

Biden was supposed to be reelected, then have to resign because of health and make Harris President?  Or maybe they hoped they- staff, Pelosi, Schumer & Co.- could keep using the autopen to do things a pretend the 'President' did them as long as possible before he had to withdraw?

Whatever the hell they actually had in mind, they knew their tame little journalists would carry water for them.

Said journalists being the ones who did it, and now are desperately trying to
A: Pretend they knew NOTHING(insert Sgt. Schulz picture here) about Biden's condition to try to save what reputation they have, and
B: Try real hard to make money from their confession that they're either incompetent or completely corrupt.

And let's not forget a HUGE thing: WHO the hell was using the autopen to sign things illegally, and on how many things?  Probably from Day 1.

This is one of those 'There are people who belong in prison for this, but we'll never get the information to do it' things.

Oh, such ethical people

in their upset about Trump allowing some South African farmers in and overlooking the sin of being white.

Divemedic has a piece from one of these bastards: basically "Well, white people did bad things before, and they inherited a lot of land from them, so they shouldn't be allowed to come here just because they claim their lives are in danger!"

I like the 'claim'; government officials and Party members sing songs about 'Kill the Boer', talk about killing all white people in the country, the reports of torture and murder are frequent and horrible, but  "These people owe it to stay there and pay the price for the sins of the fathers.  Kids and all."

People who constantly demand more immigrants suddenly hit the brakes here, because "But they're WHITE!"  Because people trying to keep their family alive is different somehow depending on your skin color...

Few years ago I picked up a smoker

Small one, it'll hold a good-size brisket or a couple of chickens, you won't be putting a pig in it.  And it does a great job.

Part of learning this was adjusting the air intake on the firebox and the cover on the smokestack.  Which wound up being downright strange:
One day I'd gotten a good fire going, it was ready to put the meat on except it was running about a hundred degrees hot.  Aha, says I, and fiddled with those adjustments, which had no results.  More fiddling, and with the intake closed and the smokestack with just a little sliver open, it got to a perfect 225 degrees(assuming that gauge is correct) and sat there.  The charcoal burned longer, lots of tasty smoke produced, and the brisket... oh, it was good.

I think there's enough air leakage around the intake and the doors that it takes that much restriction to get the temp I wanted, which is find now that I knew it.

One more thing: guy I used to know had grown up in a restaurant family and done a lot of cooking, one day mentioned that with most meat 1-2 hours of smoking will give you all the smoke flavor you'll generally get; after that you can cover it tightly in a pan and finish it in the oven.  Which seems to work nicely.

One last thing: I don't care for briquets, they leave a huge amount of ash, so some years ago I bought a bag of raw charcoal and never wen't back.  Check around to find it, the best price I've had locally is at a big restaurant supply store, 40 pounds of mesquite for about $20 last time I bought(I'll probably be shocked next time, it's been a while).

Couple of days ago, I actually made it to the range

to try some loads.  Windy and gusting, but I went, and enjoyed it.

I don't do that enough.

We've got far too many public officials who want to follow the Stasi line on speech from Germany,

not being suitably punished for it, and too many people committing perjury who aren't being charged for it.

And that's too bad.

Speaking of people playing Speech Police, you may have heard of WorldCon, BIG science fiction convention, who has a interesting way to choose program participants:
We received more than 1,300 panelist applicants for Seattle Worldcon 2025. Building on the work of previous Worldcons, we chose to vet program participants before inviting them to be on our program.

And by “vetting” program participants, they mean “barring anyone that doesn’t toe the far left social justice warrior line”:
Several individuals have asked to see the ChatGPT query that was used in the vetting process. In the interest of transparency, this was our prompt:
REQUEST

Wonderful, isn't it?

This isn't connected, but I want to get it down before I lose track of it.
LONDON, May 14 (Reuters) - U.S. energy officials are reassessing the risk posed by Chinese-made devices that play a critical role in renewable energy infrastructure after unexplained communication equipment was found inside some of them, two people familiar with the matter said.
...
While inverters are built to allow remote access for updates and maintenance, the utility companies that use them typically install firewalls to prevent direct communication back to China.

However, rogue communication devices not listed in product documents have been found in some Chinese solar power inverters by U.S experts who strip down equipment hooked up to grids to check for security issues, the two people said.

Over the past nine months, undocumented communication devices, including cellular radios, have also been found in some batteries from multiple Chinese suppliers, one of them said.

Not comforting, is it?

First, we have a whole bunch of journalists, who spent years covering for Biden

and the Democrats, now telling us either "The staff lied to us!" or "We never saw anything!"; these being fancy ways of saying either
"We're claiming incompetence, we never investigated!"
or
"Hey, we've been sold-out for years, we didn't rock the boat!"

Now we have a bunch of people, because some South African farmers are being allowed to come here, telling us just what kind of racist assholes they are.
It's amazing how this makes a bunch of them admit "We want more immigration, but  not THOSE people, they're WHITE!"

Monday, May 12, 2025

For Biden they yelled "Those are deep fakes! Cheap fakes!" when they showed

things they didn't want people to see.  Now?
"That bodycam video was manufactured!"
Just because they don't like the optics of Dem politicians assaulting ICE agents.

Amazing, isn't it?
