Oh, such ethical people
Divemedic has a piece from one of these bastards: basically "Well, white people did bad things before, and they inherited a lot of land from them, so they shouldn't be allowed to come here just because they claim their lives are in danger!"
I like the 'claim'; government officials and Party members sing songs about 'Kill the Boer', talk about killing all white people in the country, the reports of torture and murder are frequent and horrible, but "These people owe it to stay there and pay the price for the sins of the fathers. Kids and all."
People who constantly demand more immigrants suddenly hit the brakes here, because "But they're WHITE!" Because people trying to keep their family alive is different somehow depending on your skin color...
Few years ago I picked up a smoker
One day I'd gotten a good fire going, it was ready to put the meat on except it was running about a hundred degrees hot. Aha, says I, and fiddled with those adjustments, which had no results. More fiddling, and with the intake closed and the smokestack with just a little sliver open, it got to a perfect 225 degrees(assuming that gauge is correct) and sat there. The charcoal burned longer, lots of tasty smoke produced, and the brisket... oh, it was good.
I think there's enough air leakage around the intake and the doors that it takes that much restriction to get the temp I wanted, which is find now that I knew it.

Couple of days ago, I actually made it to the range
We've got far too many public officials who want to follow the Stasi line on speech from Germany,
And that's too bad.
Speaking of people playing Speech Police, you may have heard of WorldCon, BIG science fiction convention, who has a interesting way to choose program participants:
We received more than 1,300 panelist applicants for Seattle Worldcon 2025. Building on the work of previous Worldcons, we chose to vet program participants before inviting them to be on our program.
And by “vetting” program participants, they mean “barring anyone that doesn’t toe the far left social justice warrior line”:
Several individuals have asked to see the ChatGPT query that was used in the vetting process. In the interest of transparency, this was our prompt:Wonderful, isn't it?
REQUEST
Using the list of names provided, please evaluate each person for scandals. Scandals include but are not limited to homophobia, transphobia, racism, harassment, sexual misconduct, sexism, fraud.
This isn't connected, but I want to get it down before I lose track of it.
LONDON, May 14 (Reuters) - U.S. energy officials are reassessing the risk posed by Chinese-made devices that play a critical role in renewable energy infrastructure after unexplained communication equipment was found inside some of them, two people familiar with the matter said.
...
While inverters are built to allow remote access for updates and maintenance, the utility companies that use them typically install firewalls to prevent direct communication back to China.
However, rogue communication devices not listed in product documents have been found in some Chinese solar power inverters by U.S experts who strip down equipment hooked up to grids to check for security issues, the two people said.
Over the past nine months, undocumented communication devices, including cellular radios, have also been found in some batteries from multiple Chinese suppliers, one of them said.
Not comforting, is it?

First, we have a whole bunch of journalists, who spent years covering for Biden
"We're claiming incompetence, we never investigated!"
or
"Hey, we've been sold-out for years, we didn't rock the boat!"

Yes, the Stupid Party, at the hands of the Democrat Lites, are screwing us again
Monday, May 12, 2025
For Biden they yelled "Those are deep fakes! Cheap fakes!" when they showed
"That bodycam video was manufactured!"
Amazing, isn't it?

Why am I not surprised? Addition/additionally, appears to be fake
'Family business'. Wonder if she realized that they're basically confessing to Social Security fraud?
Addition: various claims that this came from a satire site, so until proven one way or the other, may not be true.

Well, the Brit government knows who they consider the enemy, and are making sure
And it's, at this point, exactly who you'd think.
“The fact one of the t-shirts has a union flag on it is entirely coincidental.”
Oh yeah. Very convincing.

A few months ago I wrote about Wolff Gunsprings
Well, slight problem: it wouldn't reliably fire, just not enough energy to make the primers go.
Soon as I described the problem the tech asked for the make and model, then said 'The only time we've had this problem has been on 'X' model S&W, but here's what we'll do."
If you're not familiar with the S&W revolvers, especially older ones with leaf mainsprings, in the front of the grip frame, near the bottom, is a piece called a strain screw. You install the hammer spring(it hooks to the trigger using a split end on that end, and the other end has what I call a hook that fits into a slot), then tighten that screw to flex the spring and load it. They make a extra-long strain screw that can load the spring more than the standard, and sent me one. No charge.
It came in fast enough to ease my "Where is it?", and I got to work. The piece fit right in, and worked, but the trigger wouldn't reliably slide forward after being pulled. Took things back down, put in the next heavier trigger slide spring, and voila! It worked! Definitely lighter and smoother than the factory springs, so the next day took it to the range.
A combination of things here,
An attacker with a knife is scary. VERY much so. A good piece on defense against.
An underwater volcano off the Oregon coast appears ready to erupt. Not expected to be a problem.
This is how many BBC clowns who want all Jews dead? They seem to collect an awful lot of them.
And the weekend wasn't started by the left, either, but they don't care.
Damn, the left hates Jews and Israel,
This week, New York magazine, as reliable a Democrat organ as there is, ran a scathing hit piece on Fetterman in which current and former staffers all but suggest that not only should he not be Pennsylvania’s senior senator, he belongs in an assisted living facility.
The piece has no "gotcha" moment that would make any fair person say that Fetterman needs to step aside - you know, the kind former President Biden provided daily. Rather, it is a collection of anecdotes about him snapping at staff, or withdrawing into himself, perhaps not taking his medication. Try as they might, the folks at New York magazine constructed a molehill, not a mountain.
But why, one wonders, two years after waiving away similar behavior is a liberal news outlet suddenly parading the senator’s alleged diminished capacities? What changed?
Well, the article itself gives us a big hint with this line, "The endless fights over Israel, which saw Fetterman draw further into himself, coincided with setbacks in his recovery regimen."
You don’t say.
And he doesn't think every word out of Trump's mouth demands hissy fits and screaming "HITLER!"? Well, that's just totally unthinkable. So get him out.
These leftist clowns may just hate Israel and Jews more than they hate Trump.

Larry Correia is a fine writer, and he wrote a piece about the sudden concern for legal processes
It is so funny (in a pathetic way) FINALLY seeing the liberals I know waking up to the fact that federal agents abuse regular people. Sure, it took attempting to deport illegals to get them to actually notice for the first time ever, but right now I'm seeing them doing this big histrionic freak out, all OMG federal agents came into people's homes and were rude and mean and wrecked stuff and took property even though those people were citizens and hadn't done anything wrong!
And I'm over here like no shit? First time? 😃
Of course right now they think ICE is the only agency that's ever been mean to people, and they don't realize this is NOTHING in the grand scheme of American history. And I figure it could go two ways for here. Either they'll slowly realize this is how dozens of big stupid government agencies routinely treat people (and worse, and get away with it) and they'll slowly stop being liberal and wanting ever increasing amounts of big government meddling in literally everything.
Or (and this one is far more likely) the second the left gets back in power these virtue signaling libs will go back to licking the jack boot and cheering on the government stomping on everybody they don't like.
Yes, at least most of them will.

How close Europe came to a real-life, no bs disaster
And here's an article at Yahoo Finance:
A reliance on net zero energy left Spain and Portugal vulnerable to the mass blackouts engulfing the region, experts said last night.
In what is believed to be Europe’s largest power cut, tens of millions of people were left without electricity, while flights were grounded, trains halted and whole cities were left without power, internet access or other vital services.
The cause of the initial fault in the region’s electricity grid is still being investigated, and the EU has insisted that there were no indications that it was a cyberattack.
However, energy experts have blamed a heavy reliance on solar and wind farms in Spain for leaving the region’s power grid vulnerable to such a crisis.
A state of emergency was declared in Spain, while in Portugal, water company EPAL said supplies could also be disrupted.
Queues formed at shops of people seeking to purchase emergency supplies like gaslights, generators and batteries.
Energy operators are fighting to restore power in Spain, Portugal and parts of France, and residents are being urged to avoid travel and use mobile phones sparingly.
More at the link.
Must be making a bunch of the Net Zero morons in Britain and Canada upset that all the peasants are getting information on this.

"Why don't other Arab nations take in the poor Palestinians?"
Jordan on Wednesday outlawed and confiscated assets of the Muslim Brotherhood, a Hamas ally and Jordan’s largest opposition group, members of which were linked by authorities to a yearslong sabotage plot against the Hashemite Kingdom.
Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Fraya said all Muslim Brotherhood activities would be banned in the country and anyone promoting the group’s ideology would be held accountable by law. The ban includes publishing anything by the group and closure and confiscation of all its offices and property, he added.
Fraya said Muslim Brotherhood members had planned attacks on security targets and sensitive locations in the kingdom, aiming to destabilize the country, but did not disclose what these targets were.
As is wont to happen the fame and gilt went to Palestinian heads, and before you know it they're calling for the overthrow of the Jordanian royal family. Their hosts1.
When they figured out that the rest of Arabia — romantics though they were — didn't quite cotton to this turfing off of the Jordanian king (and his family), they initially crawfished on that idea, but — as Palestinians throughout recent history have a habit of doing — they became a massive pain-in-the-ass to their Jordanian hosts. They ignored laws, declared themselves to be "countries inside of a country", and started occupying — forcefully — Jordanian cities.
To include Amman, the capital city of Jordan and the seat of Jordanian King Hussein2.
With "We've had it with these people" following.
All those other countries know what happens when they let a bunch of these people in, and they don't want it. I suspect they also don't want the bad publicity with western idiots moaning and demanding Action! when they have to whack a whole bunch of said people for trying to take over.

And they wonder why people raise hell at school boards, and want their kids out
MR. SCHOENFELD: So, correct. The leather that they're pointing to is a woman in a leather jacket, and one of the words is drag queen in this—
JUSTICE GORSUCH: And they’re supposed to look for those?
MR. SCHOENFELD: It is an option at the end of the book, correct.
JUSTICE GORSUCH: Yeah. Okay. And you've included these in the English language curriculum rather than the human sexuality curriculum to influence students, is that fair? That’s what the district court found. Do you agree with that?
MR. SCHOENFELD: I think, to the extent the district court found that it was to influence, it was to influence them towards civility, the natural consequence of being exposed to—
JUSTICE GORSUCH: Whatever, but to influence them.
MR. SCHOENFELD: In the manner that I just mentioned, yes.
To influence kids as young as 3...

Let us not forget some of the words in British reports after the little meeting
During the whole affair the Rebels attacked us in a very scattered, irregular manner, but with perseverance & resolution, nor did they ever dare to form into any regular body. Indeed, they knew too well what was proper, to do so. Whoever looks upon them as an irregular mob, will find himself much mistaken. They have men amongst them who know very well what they are about, having been employed as Rangers against the Indians & Canadians, & this country being much covered with wood, and hilly, is very advantageous for their method of fighting.
From what I know the piece at Wiki is pretty accurate.
I'll close with this

To celebrate part of that business I've been tied up on getting done,
Tuesday, April 15, 2025
This girl is brave, in two ways; first to put her face in public for the slavers to see,
Which brings us to this:
THIS Labour government has many delusions, but perhaps most astonishing is that it seems to believe we still live in the pre-internet era. That’s the only possible explanation for Jess Phillips, Minister for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls, sneaking into the Chamber on Tuesday afternoon, hours before the Commons broke for Easter Recess, in the hope of brushing the betrayal of grooming gang survivors under the carpet.
By all accounts, her fellow Parliamentarians were given just 45 minutes’ notice of the statement that Phillips read out. Phillips herself seemed almost bored by what she was reading, racing through it at breakneck speed with the attitude of a surly teenager. But the words are there in Hansard, available to all online. They read: ‘We will set out the process through which local authorities can access the £5million national fund to support locally-led work on grooming gangs.’
In other words, the five inquiries for which the £5million had been earmarked have been scrapped. Instead, any local authority will be able to apply for funding for ‘more bespoke work’ – victims’ panels, audits of the handling of historical cases, and suchlike. With more than 50 towns implicated in the atrocity, that £5million won’t stretch very far.
When you consider the number of council members and cops and politicians* who've been involved in this, both passively and actively, both trying to cover this all up and some actually taking part... the facts actually get out, an awful lot of the British people would, I think, say "Now or never" and start acting. And even nothing more than demonstrations would probably blow the place apart**.
Which is exactly what it appears is needed.
*testimony and records of actions, which included cops raping the girls, whether as payoff or because they were part of it; want to take bets on how many politicians were bought off the same way?
This also includes the chickenshits in both parties who never had the balls to say or do anything about it, and now are terrified they'll be held to account.
**The minute a lot of people go out waving flags and calling for justice, the janissaries will be sent out to stop them, no matter what they have to do. Which at some point becomes the badge as a mark for the enemy. Throw in a bunch of the muslims who've been allowed to decide they run the place starting to beat and kill people in these crowds, with the cops protecting them while they do it, well, a lot of people just might decide their ancestors didn't fight and bleed and die to let this happen.

This is promising
On Monday news came that the era of zero-tolerance was over. The National Shooting Sports Foundation heralded the announcement from the Trump Administration in Monday’s edition of Bullet Points.
NSSF praises the announcement today by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that the agencies are doing away with the Biden-era “zero-tolerance” policy that punished lawful and highly-regulated Federal Firearm Licensees (FFLs) for minor clerical errors.
The administration’s announcement also noted that the Biden-era regulatory policies on “engaged in the business” and pistol stabilizing braces would be reconsidered. Both of which were viewed – rightly – as regulatory overreach by the agency on issues that should have been addressed legislatively by Congress.
We'll see how all this works out.Same here:
Spurred by the Biden Administration’s redefining braced pistols as short-barreled rifles (SBRs), placing them under the auspices of the National Firearms Act (NFA), a U.S. Congressman and a U.S. Senator have filed companion bills in Congress to remove short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns and so-called “any other weapons (AOWs)” from NFA regulation.
Considering the split in Congress I have little hope right now. Again, we'll see.

And over here, the EffingBI... can cleaning out be enough,
New chat logs released by the House Judiciary Committee this week show the extraordinary lengths the FBI went to behind the scenes to shut down any discussion of Hunter Biden’s laptop in October 2020 after the New York Post broke the story.
The conversations, withheld by the FBI under Director Chris Wray, show that senior leadership issued an internal “gag order” on the laptop.
The FBI had been in possession of the abandoned MacBook Pro for 10 months by that stage, after computer repair shop owner John Paul Mac Isaac handed it over and warned of the potential crimes and national security concerns he had found.
We've been told that with Patel in charge, the Good Agents are actually doing their jobs again... We'll see. It's going to take a lot for that place to start regaining some trust.
Further on when your government doesn't care about you commoners, but
And that inquiry the Labour Party promised into the rape and slavery gangs?
Fat chance. Not only would that upset the criminals, think about how many members are complicit in the crimes.
Now throw in this: lady in prison, not allowed to see her sick husband and her daughter, because "We won't let you say things we don't approve of."
Then the "You can call for dead Jews, and taking over this country, that's fine; but don't you people DARE to carry a British flag, or say anything that might upset the invaders!" over the past few years.
Barring a direct miracle from above, Britain is screwed.
