As I've talked about, I've been working on black-powder loads for a couple of cartridges,

with varying success.  I've also used smokeless loads.  In the case of .45-70, one of the recommended propellants is Accurate 5744.  I like it, because I can get groups like this at 200

when I do my part.  Which, at times, makes me wonder if I should keep screwing with black.

I will, because I've gotten some quite good results a couple of times, but it's nice to know that if I need some accurate ammo that doesn't require compression and other fiddling, A5744 is waiting.
