Why a lot of 'protesters' need a serious acquaintance

with a whipping post.

What kind of entitled-feeling asshole thinks this is a good idea?

Protest and riot are two very different things. Assembly to voice grievances is proper and good and is best done by armed citizens acting in peaceful concert. Riot has no part in protest but is too often easy to provoke when emotions run hot. I think the riot we see today is political mudslinging riding on the righteous outrage at the callous actions of the police. Not just this incident but many others. In a protest riot is suppressed by the protesters. Media calling riot a protest are fanning the flames of political disruption.
