One thing I've found you can do with the Minwax Antique Oil Finish is after you do the final coat you have a very glossy finish, but:
steel wool it lightly, not down to the wood but scuff the finish thoroughly,
get a piece of soft cloth, put a little finish on it and buff the wood lightly
then let it dry and you get a very nice matte or low-gloss finish. Which I like much better on many things. Best to let it dry a couple of days before use it, so it can dry hard.
