Weiner had such little evidence to back up his Weiner report that he actually decided to use a message board as a credible source of complaints. Before we move on, ask yourself this: If you were a sixth grade teacher, and your student turned in a report citing a message board as their source, would you give them a good grade? Any rational teacher would fail a sixth grader for doing that, so we should all definitely acknowledge this EpicWeinerFail.
But, it’s one thing to use a message board as a source. It’s another thing to use a message board that completely disagrees with you as a source. The founder of “Rip -off Reports” did an investigation on the claims about Goldline. They found the following:
And“Consumers can feel confident and secure when doing business with Goldline International.”
“They provide extensive free information to help people make informed choices when buying precious metals. - feel confident & secure when doing business with Goldline International.”
“Goldline International has made every effort over the past few months to deal with any client issues that might arise. Because of our efforts and those of Goldline International, Rip-off Report is confident in giving Goldline a positive rating.”
“Rip-off Report knows there is no company or individual that is perfect – Goldline International knows this also and demonstrates their need for continuing improvement – that is why Rip-off Report comfortably states that you can be completely confident, safe and secure when doing business with them…”
From the NY Times: “The Better Business Bureau, which has given Goldline an A+ rating, said Tuesday that it was standing by that. A representative of the bureau said it had recently re-reviewed Goldline in response to Mr. Weiner’s accusations and saw no reason for a change. “It’s a company with not that many complaints,” said Gary Almond, from the bureau. When compared with other companies that sell gold, “there was a remarkable difference in how each one addressed complaints,” noting that some of those other companies had F ratings.”
Weiner response: This is one fact that Weiner prepared for. His claim? That the Better Business Bureau might be guilty of fraud, making the not-so-subtle accusation that Goldline paid for their A+ rating. And Glenn is the one accused of being a conspiracy theorist?
That's your first, the second is actually a combination of a bunch of people in the Obama Administration and Rep. Sestak:
Rep. Joe Sestak, winner of the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary, is refusing to provide more information on what job he was offered by a White House official to drop of that race, although he confirmed again that the incident occurred.
The White House was backing incumbent Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) in the primary. Sestak acknowledged in an interview in February that he was offered a position by an unnamed White House official - a potential violation of federal law - but has not offered any specifics on conversation. Republicans are trying to use the issue against Sestak in the November Senate race.
Gee, ya think maybe? Since this appears to be an actual federal crime and all?
Bye
