'Another Saturday night

and I ain't got nobody,' etc.  But there is always the intellectual stimulus of data analysis

Strange bedfellows, indeed

Now, Ladd ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed, but understands where the money might be which is probably why he abandoned the sinking ship that is CSGV and is now associated with George Takei’s One Pulse for America.  This might bring some cash to the group which he may get some in his pocket while George prances around ignoring that his director supports FDR’s sending the Japanese to Internment Camps, the same camps Mr. Takei spent time in as a child.

Of course, the left loves associating themselves with some other nasty people, too.
This is the same Linda Sarsour that just called for a “Jihad” against Trump. Yes, the leader of the Woman’s March issued a Fatwa. She is also the same Linda Sarsour that is the vicious antisemitic “Anti-Zionist” who caused controversy at NYC and said Zionist can’t me feminists.

She also co-led the “Day Without a Woman” march with convicted Palestinian terrorist Rasmea Odeh.

So an antisemitic, terrorism supporting, radical is going to march with a bunch of raging Leftist Progressives…

The same raging Leftist Progressives that kicked Jews out of the Chicago Dyke March for triggering the Palestinian lovers and then published an awful NY Times justification of their Jew hatred.

Experiments to be tried

Mentioned having had good results from some hard-cast 300-grain bullets over Green Dot in the .45-70, so some more of those put together.  Also have some new bullets to try: these are X-Treme 300-grain plated, with a mod: Dad has a canneluring tool, and used it on some, and gave me a few.  Need to load some over Unique, and over Green Dot and see how they do.

I also need to find someplace in town that carries Goex black.  The first black-powder .45-70 loads I put together were with it; the Graf & Sons powder seems to work well, but produces a bit lower velocity, and I'd like to find out if that was just an oddity between two brands, or maybe just something about that one pound of old powder and a newer one.

For that matter, I really need to get to the range for some handgun time.  The part-time job has turned into damn-near full-time due to circumstances, and has left no time for any range therapy.  It should(hopefully) slow back to the expected times in the near future, but until then I'll have to do more dry-fire practice.

Downright hot & muggy outside;

more comfortable by far in front of a fan, or in the a/c, going over new study material

No, not much posting lately

Between general stuff and a lot more hours at the part-time than expected, I'm falling behind.  Therefore, I present this stuff in lieu of actual content

And they wonder why people don't like or trust them...

In an article identifying the originating source of the wrestling gif tweeted last week by President Donald Trump, CNN says they’ll keep his name private so long as the person remains compliant to the media thought police.

The direct threat is: “CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.”

That would be a direct threat by CNN to dox the identity of a private individual if the citizen refuses to remain apologetic and compliant to the ideological dictates of the corporate CNN’s media outlook.
Bastards.  Miserable excuses for reporters.

From the CSGV-Bloomberg-Mommies Want-approved city of Chicago,
Dozens of people were struck by gunfire in Chicago, some of them fatally, during the traditionally violent Fourth of July weekend, mostly in parts of the South and West sides that have long been plagued by gang crime and gun violence

From Friday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon, about 60 people were shot with eight of them killed, according to data kept by the Tribune.

Speaking of Chicago, remember the Very Special Agent and the stolen car?
Update to our elite federal agent:
thanks to a dumb-ass FBI agent, the offender now has a Chevy Equinox, a M4, a Glock 17, a Glock 22, a Glock 27, 2 vests, full tank of gas...

I like his description of the agents: A bunch of armed accountants running around playing police

Joe Huffman had a link to this:

It doesn't need correcting.

In your country, people who criticize the government can be arrested and sent to "re-education" camps. But over here, if government agents started trying to do stuff like that, they'd likely get blown full of holes by pissed off Americans with guns.

So our guns protect our freedom of speech.

I can criticize my government if I want to. I can say "Donald Trump is a corrupt pompous ass and his cabinet is full of lickspittles and toadies."

Or I can criticize the Chinese government if I want to. I can say, "Xi Jinping heads an evil government that oppresses the rights of Chinese citizens while the Party lackeys grow rich from corruption."

Now you try. Go on, post something critical about the Chinese government.

Of course, they might be watching

A less-remembered part of history,

And this seems to go with it

Gen. Percy on those troublesome colonists:

During the whole affair, the rebels attacked us in a very scattered, irregular manner, but with perseverance and resolution, nor did they ever dare to form into a regular body. Indeed they knew too well what was proper, to do so. Whoever looks upon them as an irregular mob, will find himself very much mistaken. They have men amongst them who know very well what they are about, having been employed as rangers against the Indians and Canadians, and this country being very much covered with wood, and hilly, is very advantageous for their method of fighting.

Mr. Huffman makes a discovery:

Revelations 19:11:
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.”

For the 4th, on the haters of freedom where Great Britain used to be:

Scottish comedian and YouTuber Markus Meechan, better known as Count Dankula, is facing a year in prison for recording and uploading a video where he taught his girlfriend’s pet dog how to “seig heil” on command. As Heat Street reported earlier this year the viral video did not amuse Scottish police, prompting his arrest.
Oh yeah, staying under the Crown would've been GREAT!

Happy 4th

A repeat from yesterday

Let's just say

that this was a very good day to take the truck to work.

To every asshat who says "We'd be better of if we'd stayed under the Crown" and

the 'Socialized Medicine is best!' crowd:
Fuck you.
His father Chris, 32, said: 'Our parental rights have been stripped away. We can't even take our own son home to die. We've been denied that. Our final wish [was] if it all went against us can we take our little boy home to die and we are not allowed.

'They even said no to a hospice.'

The couple, who have previously lost battles in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, claim they also asked doctors to allow them a final weekend with Charlie but say this request has been denied.

'We begged them to give us the weekend,' Ms. Yates said, 'Friends and family wanted to come and see Charlie for the last time. But now there isn't even time for that. Doctors said they would not rush to turn off his ventilator but we are being rushed.

'Not only are we not allowed to take our son to an expert hospital to save his life, we also can't choose how or when our son dies.'
...
As Daniel Greenfield explains, "it would have cost the NHS less to allow his parents to take Charlie to America" but this would have sent the "message that socialized medicine is flawed." It would expose the horrible underbelly of the socialist regime.
Better the kid die than try an experimental treatment the NHS can't or won't do.  Because 'fairness and compassion', or something.

Many reasons I'm damned glad those people risked all to break away from Britain.  This is among them.

A story I was reminded of, from back when

I was wasting time inattending college:

Girl I knew came into class looking like hell, and asked what’d happened. Lack of sleep because the phone range at 2am, and when she answered it friend said “A buffalo shit on my car!”

Yes, you read that correctly.

After the "What?" and repeats, story came out like this:
Seems friend had been driving her MG through the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. This is a big area that includes a herd of American bison(hereafter ‘buffalo’) and a lot of other wildlife(including a herd of longhorn cattle) that have the run of the place, two-lane roads with no lights, and maybe two buildings on the whole place that had any lights at night. And, this being pre-cellphone days, a pay phone in front of the visitors center.

So friend had come busting around a corner at about 55mph to see the back end of a buffalo standing in the middle of his road. She hit the brakes, but the car hit it in the back legs,
(To give scale: MG sports car vs. a buffalo.  A bull can be six feet at the top of the shoulders, and weigh in the 1500-pound range; sometimes more.)
causing it to sit on the hood- popping both front tires and screwing the suspension- and, either in reaction or comment, crap all over the hood and windshield.

Leaving her to walk about two miles to the visitor center and call for help.

The buffalo? He slid off the car, shook and snorted, and walked off. Probably ten or fifteen pounds lighter.

You can’t make this stuff up.

What? The Native Peoples weren't all in harmony and peace before

the nasty Europeans and Brits arrived?  Wow.
A tower of human skulls unearthed beneath the heart of Mexico City has raised new questions about the culture of sacrifice in the Aztec Empire after crania of women and children surfaced among the hundreds embedded in the forbidding structure.

Archaeologists have found more than 650 skulls caked in lime and thousands of fragments in the cylindrical edifice near the site of the Templo Mayor, one of the main temples in the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan, which later became Mexico City.
Next they'll tell us the tribes killed more than they could eat, and modified the land to suit themselves.

If this information is accurate, then a bunch of people on Detroit PD

need to be fired.  And prosecuted if possible for everything from damaging/destroying property to animal cruelty to abuse of power.

This is truly disgusting.  Especially this:
A Reason investigation last year found that the Detroit Police Department's Major Violators Unit, which conducts hundreds of drug raids a year in the city, had a nasty habit of leaving dead dogs in its wake. One officer had killed 69 dogs over the course of his career, public records obtained by Reason showed.
Bleep.

There was a strong urge to say "Well, THERE'S your problem"

when a guy handed me this
from a bulk pack of Winchester white box

Professional Journalism, NYeffingTimes version

Dozens of people were wounded by gunfire at a nightclub early Saturday morning in downtown Arkansas
The mind boggles that this got through the process.
