Same. Sucks a lot more than I thought it would. Be Blessed for the years she was here. My siblings and I had a FT to talk about memories of her. Laughed and cried. It was good. -Brewer96
Even stranger is my mom was a dyed-in-the-wool liberal democrat who the last nearly 40 years of her life deliberately poked at me for being a flag-loving, former military and military supporting conservative. Even with this I bought the cemetery plot next to hers for my wife and myself.
Last month my brother followed her request to have "A Faithful Democrat" put on her tombstone, already knowing that I would be buried next to her. True to form she had to have that last poke.
So yesterday I was sitting there, thinking about her on the first Mothers Day since her passing...and feeling absolutely nothing at all. Oh well.
In conjunction with Mother’s Day, the sermon yesterday was about honoring parents. But how do you honor a parent who is deceased? You look after, as best you can, your siblings, nephews, and nieces – the people your mom and dad loved just as much as they loved you.

The pain will pass, but the memories will remain.
