There was a tree in the back yard

One of those that had become a horribly tangled mess that, no matter what you did, always put branches out toward the nearest power lines and data lines.  Literally, you pruned it back from them, and that's where the first shoots started growing.  And it had reached the point it had to be taken down.

Last week son came over on his Saturday with his pole saw, and with that and my chain saw- and having had a line run from it to a tree on the other side of the yard for about three weeks, tightening it every other day- we got it down without damaging the shed, one of us falling out or having something fall on us.  It's a damp morning, and as my shoes dry I got all the big pieces hauled around for the big trash pickup(or anyone who wants the wood).  It's only rained very lightly yesterday and last night, so the ground is still firm and it was easy to use the dolly to get them around.

Which had to be today, as we're told we'll have some real rain later today and off & on the next few days.  We'll see, but in any case it's only small stuff left I can cut up later.

When I first moved here, there were limbs and small trees all over, nothing having been cut for at least a couple of years, and every month I had a tall pile at the curb for pickup.  At least I'm long past that level.
