Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba has signed an executive order temporarily suspending open carry for Jackson residents in an effort to lessen the
occurence of violent crimes during the COVID-19 civil emergency.
First, unless he's a complete idiot, he knows he can't 'suspend' a state law. So he knows this is illegal, without power, and nothing more than a way to push his "I want this law gotten rid of!" view.
Second, I hope someone does sue his ass off.

Jackson, MS is a shithole. Highest crime rate per capita in Mississippi. The roads have potholes that swallow cars whole, there are ghettos that even people from Compton say "Nope, not going there" and the entire city looks like it could use a good hurricane to just wash it away.
So I'm not shocked to see this kind of crap coming from that city.
