Mostly back still

Dad had a slip last week and messed-up a knee.  So have been visiting and taking care of some yard and house stuff he and Mom can't do right now.  Looks like it'll require surgery; sees the doc tomorrow to decide for certain, and set a date if needed.

So, we'll see how that goes.

In the meantime, back to our usual screaming:
What kid of farging idiots close scenic turnouts ON PUBLIC HIGHWAYS with the excuse that "You're not allowed to look at Mt. Rushmore while the .gov shutdown is in effect"?

And why the hell is the highway patrol allowing this crap?

All the Barrycading of war memorials have been covered the last while, also the various vets moving the damn things.   Other day saw a picture of one of the "I'm only following orders" park police locking some kind of strap between Barrycades; so if anyone's going to a monument, take bolt cutters.

Speaking of which,

Join fellow Veterans at the war memorials in Washington DC on Sunday October 13th at 9 AM and at memorials across these United States.

Also found at Sondra's place:

And a list of things being screwed with by Obama's dictate; have to make things painful for people, y'know.
And again, to that parks clown whining that 'this is disgusting', screw you; you don't seem to have any problem doing it to people.*
The Spartans may have had their shields, Native Americans their tomahawks and arrows, the Samurai may have wielded his sword with all the deadly grace of a tiger in mid-attack, but pound for pound, nothing comes close to the audacious stupidity of "Barrycades" and people in pointy little Smokey the Bear hats, poised to protect America's monuments from law-abiding citizens.

And now I've got stuff to catch up on.  More bitching later.

*Flat out of patience with this garbage.

I have been to the very same spot to view Mt. Rushmore. Had I been there now there would have been a pile of cones on the side of the road.
