Of course it's from a college, and of COURSE a friggin' 'Diversity Committee' is involved.

A microaggression is a brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignity, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicates a hostile, derogatory, or negative slight or insult toward people of non-dominant identities. [Smith College]
Translation: ANYTHING said by ANYONE that makes ANY member of a protected species(women, homosexuals, muslims, Democrats and communists, etc.) feel uncomfortable or unhappy or hurts their feelings now has a Proper Name So We Can Deal With It.

We just have to be sure to use the neologism directly, rather than accept (the presumably approved one of) "reverse microaggression". So when the wife gratuitously slags the husband in mere conversation, that is a prime example of microaggression.
