In which case the next report will probably blame it on us "antigovernment rightwing extremists."
Here are some of the
The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.Perhaps they read Neil Strauss' Emergency? We now need to be afraid of pissed-off military veterans!
Proposed imposition of firearms restrictions and weapons bans likely would attract new members into the ranks of rightwing extremist groups, as well as potentially spur some of them to begin planning and training for violence against the government. The high volume of purchases and stockpiling of weapons and ammunition by rightwing extremists in anticipation of restrictions and bans in some parts of the country continue to be a primary concern to law enforcement.Well, we knew they were keeping track of the Three Percenters already. That is, after all, their stated goal of being loud, proud, and in-your-face; to make sure the .gov knows there's a line that shouldn't be crossed.
A recent example of the potential violence associated with a rise in rightwing extremism may be found in the shooting deaths of three police officers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 4 April 2009. The alleged gunman’s reaction reportedly was influenced by his racist ideology and belief in antigovernment conspiracy theories related to gun confiscations, citizen detention camps, and a Jewish-controlled "one world government."Right. This is in keeping with "The Nazis and eugenics were right-wing" meme that Jonah Goldberg so thoroughly debunked in Liberal Fascism. But Goldberg is a JEW, so, um, nevermind. . . (Liberal Fascism will be out in paperback in June, just so you know. Strongly recommended.) Yeah, this nut, probably off his SSRI meds, decides to shoot three cops to death because of his paranoid fear of having his guns taken away, therefore he's the poster-boy for "rightwing extremism."
Isn't it wonderful? Pirates seize American citizens, the Iranians want to nuke Israel, last I heard the FBI still listed ALF and ELF as among the most dangerous domestic terrorists, but this is what's put out.

(*psssst!* Link!)
And thanks!
I blasted off on this too: Homeland Security on guard for ‘right-wing extremists’
Ok, it's official: I can't spell OR remember whether I put the link in or not...
I'm half-Jew/half-fundie who now attends Baptist church and the ADL and SPLC (and likely the government) lists me as a potential domestic terrorist for being a life member of the Jewish Defense League and Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership in spite of my family's distinguished career in the US Armed Services.
I've got family on the Wall and planted all over the world and Arlington, for Christ's sake. Dad's a Lt. Colonel and his cousin was a THREE STAR IN BUSH's cabinet (bananaman fired him and replaced him with a tool who doesn't know an effin thing about running a military hospital) and former Surgeon General of the Army (only Surgeon General of the Army that was both a West Pointer AND had actual combat medicine experience as a MEDIC before he later learned to be a doctor too, purple hearts and wounds to prove it, Ranger and SF as well).
If that don't beat all?
I still think I'm a patriot. I may grumble and argue with other patriots, but we're still patriots. The people with the reins aren't anymore.
I'll fly my III flag HIGH AS THE HIGHEST FLAGPOLE I CAN FIND.
I'll admit that 51 members of my family fought proudly in the Confederate Infantry (no officers, no land owners, no cavalry) but I think the fact that many of us come from there means it could happen again and the bean counters might take that to heart. We do.
III and Oathkeeper here. Tell your favorite DOJ entry team :-)
We aren't extremists, we just aren't afraid to say what we think and stamp our name on it.
John Hancock, when asked why he signed his name so much with size and flourish on the Declaration said "Because I wanted it to even be visible it was my name to a half-blind English king."
I was kind of hoping to find something that was actual research on socialism.
this is obviously biased and filled with emotion and personal opinion.
This would be considered bad journalism.
I want true research on the matter please. I want logical, unemotional facts, not a rant.
To borrow from John Wayne, Anony, you are a lulu!
You came to my soapbox and you're bothered to find emotion and personal opinion? Then go away.
