I never assume a fix will be fast. Been bit in the ass far too many rimes to fall for that. I work on equipment that the sheer variety would boggle most peoples minds. Gas chromatograph sequencing valves to excavator hydraulics, turbine engine control systems, over pressure controls for interstate natural gas pipelines.
I never assume anything at the start. Why set yourself up to be disappointed?

That there, is just life. The follow up is: every 2 hour job is one broken bolt away from a three day nightmare.

Yeah. Mine is generally nothing near that complicated, but suddenly- poof!- it takes a lot more than expected.
Especially when part of it involves standing ona ladder. like this did.
