Sounds great. We have yet to see verification of it working on a sustained basis. The main problem is that its rangefinder system probably loses effectiveness once the zone is obscured by smoke.
We have seen that before with some of the fancy targeting systems tried with the M1 tank. Crews generally switched them off in favor of visual.
The US also has already been installing the HELIOS laser system on some Destroyers, it's essentially a laser CIWS, expect to see it on all surface combatants and possibly others in the next few years.
