A downside to e-books instead of paper

Few years back I started getting a bunch of stuff on e-books instead of paper, and the one big problem* is location:
I used to wind up with a book in the living room, maybe one by the bed, sometimes a third in another place where, next time I was there, I'd read a bit more of it.  Second wife once commented about having more than one book going at a time depending on what room I was in.

Don't do that anymore, and I can't decide if it's a problem or not.

*Yes, backed up offline on everything; no, I don't trust Amazon or whoever not to change or make things disappear because "Oh no, you don't actually own that book just because you bought and paid for it!"

Not a problem.
I used to read a lot.
Not so much now. I find my ass sitting on the couch watching the boob-tube way more than I should.
Now that's a problem.

Mom told me years ago I don't have to remember everything, just where I put the book on it. so, about 15 years ago I bought a good printer and a ton of paper. a few dozen ink packs later.
I have a lot of 3 ring binders full of stuff I printed off and saved. it been handy to say the least. the grid can go down at any time.
and if a EMP does happen, well. good luck with anything that needs electric power.
I have a easy 4-5 thousand books here in the house. they will easy outlast any laptop or reader.

E-reader...read 25% of one story then swap to a different story & do it again.
