Kim tried a new boomstick

to mixed reviews.  Which brings me to a particular thing he mentioned:
On AR-type rifles, I almost always wear both earplugs and muffs, because I have to work one cup up on that ear in order to get a good cheek weld, and with trying to take care of what hearing I still have I'm not taking chances.

I mentioned in the past I like the Radians earplug kits, because, for some reason, the foam plugs won't stay in place in my ears, they work themselves loose.  The foamies have better noise reduction, but if you have to stop regularly and go outside to put the damn things back in...

I've found it useful to get low profile cups, and maybe stuff a little thin foam inside.

As for the Ruger LC carbine, SGM Tactical makes 26 round 45ACP and 30 round 10MM Glock compatible mags for those guns. Additionally, the factory buttstock can be swapped with any AR mil-spec unit. The factory buttstock pinches my cheek and grabs whiskers, so it was replaced with a Hogue 15040. I can lower 1/3 co-witness the irons with PA or Sig optics.

I used to shoot skeet & trap competitively & had a set of molded earplugs made. I highly recommend them. Check with your local hearing quack, they should be able to point you to someone who can pour them. It's less expensive over the long term than buying disposables or silicone plugs.
