I shall have to contain myself

because while I wouldn't mind a good flintlock to mess with, I fear this one is going to be a bit expensive.

I've seen an original Baker once, all things considered in fine shape, and thought "That would be nice."  This one would be even nicer, as it would be very shootable.

Books and t.v. shows were great.
If you do get one and feel better, just note a good rifleman could get off 3 rounds a minute. (Sharpe could get off more, but he kinda cheated cuz he already had a round loaded before demonstrating to the newbies!)

Do they still sell flintlock kits?

The grandson and I have been looking at kits to build for the last year or so and they are expensive by my budget.

I only saw part of one of the shows, but I read most of the books.

I think you can find a kit to build one, but good flintlock kits are not inexpensive. ANY good flintlock kit, last time I looked.
