I think a good term is 'completely knackered'

for my current state.

You see, there was this tree in the back yard, in a bad place because no matter how I'd trimmed and pruned, the bastard would sent shoots out toward the power lines, and the data circuit.  Every damned time.  And it was right next to the shed, which made taking it down a bit  more difficult.

This  morning son came over with his pole saw.  I'd run a line from part of the tree to another tree on the other side of the yard and had been putting tension on it for about three weeks.  I'd planned to first take the part it was tied to down, to make sure it missed the shed, and then run the line to the other part and repeat.  His idea was to cut further down to take all of that part down at once.  Which is what we did, and it worked.  Cut a wedge in the right direction, then start cutting from the other side while I kept adding tension back as it leaned, and then it creaked and moved much more easily.  At that point he moved back with the saw and I kept cranking, and then it fell, exactly  as wanted.

So all that's done.  I need to cut up some of the longer pieces for the next big trash pickup, which reminds me I need to get a wheelbarrow, and put the come-a-long away and the rope, and clean up once I'm rested a bit.  Seems the work involved added to the stress of getting this done has flat worn me out.  Which is terrible because a year ago I'd be thinking "It's nice outside, so I can do some more and then try the bicycle again."  Not after the last few months.

So I shall sit and soak up moisture and rest a while, then put stuff all away, because it's supposed to rain tomorrow and parts of the next few days.

And I'll read about the Iranian government being decapitated
