Hm. Notice that dramatic shift in 2013 on their chart? Wonder what caused that? Is it that more Republicans and fewer Independents and Democrats started buying guns? Or because gun owners started identifying more as Republicans than Independents and Democrats?
Or maybe just more Republicans and fewer Independents and Democrats were willing to admit gun ownership starting in 2013?
Maybe someone should look into that. Might be an interesting discussion point.
People don’t stop being fun owners. That means that the drop in independent gun owners since 2013 is actually the gun owning independents becoming republicans.

I believe every person that said they don't own firearms do not actually own firearms and told the pollster the truth.
And many of them also own canoes and other small vessels but do not have much skill or luck in operating them.
