Which means the laser weapon the Israelis just put in service, and the stuff we're(and lots of others)working on, became a lot more affordable, and needed. All we need now is a powergun to simplify the fueling of such a weapon.
And that will change lots of things.

Drones are a quantum leap in military tools
With powerguns, not only are drones dead (although there are a lot of stealth drones in the slammerverse, just no attack drones, ISR only) but sats too. Anything over the horizon is dead.
Lasers have limitations....not just power sources but environment. Clouds, rain, fog all negate lasers. We need directed energy weapons but we also need other cheap alternatives.
Well, they aren't Jewish Space Lasers, but they are a step in the right direction.
Ummm, you seem to.forget the rule.of inverse square. A laser that could take a sat down from Earth has not been invented yet.
