Nurse once asked me if I smoked, and I said
"Only when I'm on fire."
She gave me a dirty look, and I added "You think I'm joking."

As it happens, I give the same answer when I'm asked whether I smoke. I generally go on to explain that I'm a Chemist and ~for me~ smoking indicates that a very bad thing has happened...
Caught myself on fire a couple of times when I was a welder. All I can add to the conversation is; when your crotch is on fire, dont try to beat it out with a chipping hammer.
