Apparently there was enough outrage over the thought of them being prosecuted that the DA- who's running for office again- announced "Oh no, they won't be charged!"
I can't imagine why...
And have you noticed that almost none of the news stories have mention of the fact that, earlier in the video, the crook appears to show a knife to the clerks? I also wonder why.

Or that he was there the day before, and stole a few other items and said "If you stop me I will shoot you"?
