our guys decimated an armored task force sent to syria by russia. they crossed a bridge into the u.s. sector, ten minutes later they were all dead or running naked for the river. the entire column was destroyed and the bridge. the few survivors has to swim for it. sure wish we could do the kiev convoy the same way.
Commander in Chief should issue a desired end state. Theatre Command should deploy the necessary forces to accomplish this. Unit commanders prosecute their orders.
Allowing micromanagement of tactical units by civilians results in the military not winning a single conflict since WWII.

Russia has seen Apaches in action for decades. Wonder if it occurred to them to come up with a countermeasure?
That's one of the things that tells me that the Ukes are losing much, MUCH more badly than we are being told. You don't run your tanks like that when there is an air threat, attack helicopters OR jets. You only run them that way when you have complete air superiority.
We keep hearing that the Ukes are still contesting the air. Why aren't the Russians acting like it? Simple answer is that it's a lie, it's propaganda. There was footage of a 3 mile long convoy of thin skin transports full of infantry driving with no escorts and no spacing. Why DIDN'T the ukes bomb the shit out of that convoy, or at least hit them with IEDs or just an L shaped ambush? Because they don't have the ability.
Reading between the lines, I think Russia will be declaring victory before the end of March.
Don't forget about the A-10s. They jockies are salivating about now
The pictures sure don't look like the Ukraine in winter time. Probably propaganda phots at this point.
