Nicely done. But I do have a pair of questions for those who don't agree that people have a right to decide if the risk of vaccine is worth it.
1) IF THE VACCINATED PERSON IS PROTECTED FROM THE DISEASE, THEN WHY IS THERE RISK OF INFECTION FROM THE UNVACCINATED ? THE VACCINE PROTECTS YOU, RIGHT ? ARE YOU SAYING THAT THE VACCINES DO NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED ?
2) ANYONE CAN CARRY THE VIRUS, UNVACCINATED OR VACCINATED. THE RISK (TO ME) ONLY AFFECTS THE UNVACCINATED WHO CAN CATCH THE DISEASE.
The vaccine 'cocktail' where several vaccines are mixed for the age 2 shots for U.S. citizens is claimed to be a possible cause of autism. I do not know this as fact, but my son was normal before the shots. After the shots, within a week he began to withdraw. Grandma was the person who noticed it immediately - she saw the difference. When it was my daughter's turn for shots, we insisted the cocktail was reduced to three vaccines max per shot.
My son is now grown and is much more verbal, but he is still autistic and science still have come up with no explanation on how it begins. I'm not looking to sue a drug company - I just want to reduce the risk of others becoming affected by it. It has really affected our lives - he will live with us until we are no longer able to care for him and we wonder if the caretaker will be as good to him as we are.
Since autism starts to show in 2-3 year olds, it makes total sense to delay vaccinations until 5 or 6. As long as they arent mixing with diseased children, they should be fine. At wich point, the autism-vacine link will either be totally proven or disproven, depending on the rates that result.
For some reason earlier comments by me aren't showing, so: Someone who's not vaccinated can get sick. That's the threat. Simple, right?
There's ZERO evidence that vaccines cause autism. Period. The Brit doctor who started this crap should be flogged and then hanged for the harm he's done.
When kids under 5 or 6 can get sick, no IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. It's stupid. Ever seen video of a kid with whooping cough? Risking that to 'prove or disprove' something THAT'S ALREADY PROVEN FALSE IS IDIOTIC.
Everyone being vaccinated doesn't mean everyone is protected. Sometimes a vaccination doesn't take. But they take often enough that most are protected, so one infected person will pass the infection to an average of less than one more person. That insures that infectious diseases die out, instead of becoming epidemics. But it's still bad for the few that do catch the infection...
The problem is the standardized dosage. Too much vaccine may make you sick. Too little does not activate your immune system sufficiently to provide full protection against the infectious organism. Both of those thresholds vary widely between individuals, but it is impractical to test every vaccine recipient for their response and adjust the dosage accordingly. So vaccine developers choose to err on the low side, picking a dosage that harms no one (except for a few with medical conditions that rule out vaccinations). That leaves a few percent vaccinated and thought to be protected, but actually with little or no protection - and no one knows who these are. There are also a few percent that could not be safely vaccinated due to known medical conditions.
As long as everyone around one of these people have been effectively vaccinated, they are safe because they are not in contact with any carrier. When a carrier enters the community, a lone unvaccinated or ineffectively vaccinated individual still has a pretty good chance of not having enough contact to catch the disease. But if there are too many unvaccinated - which is mostly by choice in the USA today - the infection will spread from that carrier, and now the chances multiply for anyone who is knowingly or unknowingly unprotected to catch the disease. Also, officials must drop back to the older method of quarantine to prevent an epidemic. E.g., schools must either close entirely or keep all unvaccinated kids out until the disease has died out.
So the unvaccinated-by-choice can't be simply left to collect Darwin Awards, any more than a fool driving recklessly in traffic can be left to kill himself. They have chosen (or their parents have) to not only run a foolish risk to themselves, but to be a hazard to everyone else, unless they are isolated by being kept out of school and sometimes quarantined entirely. And that choice is being made by fools based on fake science and the maunderings of people who certainly did not attain prominence by their intelligence and learning: ex-Playboy models, actors/actresses, and children of famous dead men.
The proper age for vaccination is as soon as a baby's immune system has developed sufficiently that the vaccine is safe and will usually take. Waiting any longer than necessary exposes babies to unnecessary risk of contracting diseases that are traumatically painful even when they do not kill or leave brain damage and other permanent injuries.
Since we now have so many vaccines, the initial ones have to be spaced out over more than a year. And so the little kids are getting vaccinated at the same age as autism shows up, when it does. Hysterical parents could not accept that the autism just happened, and blamed a recent vaccination - but that's not proof, and every researcher but one concluded that there was no relationship between vaccines and autism. The exception was a crook with a financial interest in a different vaccine.
And finally, one of the reasons we need so many vaccines is that, except for smallpox, vaccination has not been consistent worldwide, and so other diseases are not becoming extinct like smallpox. (Some like influenza, cholera, the black death, and ebola are often caught from animals so no amount of vaccinating humans will make them extinct, and we can't make vaccines for everything, but most diseases with vaccines could be rendered extinct if we could just inject everyone in the whole world at the same time.) Anti-vaxers are thus hurting even generations that are not yet born.
