I have seen exactly one gun barrel that split like a banana lengthwise, just forward of the receiver (thickest section of barrel). The story on that one was a home reloaded round that had too much of a very fast powder in it, detonated completely before the round moved half way down barrel, pressure had to go somewhere.
The vid is too fast for detail but I sure hope the bolt was fully in battery or the guy might be dead.
It looks similar to when the Kentucky Ballistics guy had his gun explode on him. Ended up being improperly loaded rounds that he'd purchased from a surplus store.
300 bo won't chamber in a 223 barrel... impossible for firing pin to strike primer if not fully chambered (bolt must be fully closed for striker to hit firing pin) get a clue!

Reminds me of what happened on Kentucky Ballistics, when Scott's .50 went kaboom due to a hot-loaded round. He barely survived.
Always check your weapon.

I'd love to know more.
And yeah, I lean toward some WAY overcharged round, from what can be seen.
One guy at Wirecutter's place, where I found this, thinks can see a boresighter inthe barrel, I can't tell.

Unfortunately, sometimes a .300 Blackout round will fit into a .223/556 chamber. And the results are bad. Numerous cases of it, including on camera.
yes. "Just because it fits, doesn't mean it fits"
Axe, you'd think so and so would I, but it's happened at the gun club I'm a member of.
