Meanwhile, 40 were being quarantined at the Border Patrol Chula Vista
Station with active scabies and head lice. The facility will provide
them with showers, laundry service and bedding. Another 10 people,
mostly children, were taken to local hospitals with unknown illnesses.
And, for some reason, HHS doesn't want the congressman to see the facility:
A Health and Human Services official refused to allow a member of
Congress to enter a facility in his district where some of the
unaccompanied immigrant children are being housed.
Representative Jim Bridenstine (R., Okla.) was told he could schedule an appointment for July 21. ““What are they trying to hide?” Bridenstine said after the incident. ”Do
they not want the children to speak with Members of Congress? As a
Navy pilot, I have been involved in operations countering illicit human
trafficking. I would like to know to whom these children are being
released.”
I'd guess they're trying to hide
Just how fucked-up this mess is,
Just how much disease- bacterial, viral and parasites- are coming in, and
Just how many of the older 'children' have gang tattoos and such.

If the rep was really bally, he'd have pushed his way in, or made them have him arrested.
It'd at least have made the papers and drawn some publicity.
Bridenstine is former military and not dumb. If he had tried to push his way in he would have ended up on the ground in handcuffs. The real problem here is the HHS and probably a little higher up the chain. He can make a bigger stink by exposing that.
Also, we know now how long they think it will take to clean everything up ---- three weeks.
Move along, nothing to see here.
