but it had never been excavated. But it's being done now.

DAMMIT! I wish I could find stuff like that! SHEEESH! That's awesome, and the condition of the piece is amazing after all this time.
I've gone to three Civil War Battlefields so far, and I am amazed at all the things they found at those places. To stumble upon something like that would be spectacular.
