So those wonderful gun-free British Islands;

how's that working out? Not very damned well.
The thug is then said to have phoned an accomplice to fetch a gun, yelling into his mobile: “Bring me that thing.”

Raymond left the 24-hour McDonald’s but was chased into a cul-de-sac. The gun was then delivered and Mr Mitchell was beaten and pistol-whipped before being shot three times in an alley in Brixton, South London, at 6.50am on Sunday. Raymond, nicknamed Brown, was taken to hospital but died hours later.

One neighbour, who saw the shooting but was too terrified to be named, said: “He was begging, literally begging for his life. I didn’t dare look out my window in case they saw me. I heard them laughing and swearing at him, calling him a ‘b***h’. I heard them laughing afterwards as well.”
So you've got laws that disarm the honest and don't stop the criminal from having arms, and you've got a bunch of thugs who've grown up with the attitude that anyone who pisses them off, they have a right to murder. And laugh about it.

Datechguy says There was a time in England where Mr. Mitchell might have had a pistol of his own but in England he has been disarmed that allowing him to be in the words of the article the “bitch” of the men who were less worried about legalities. I'll point out that it wasn't that long ago that one of the neighbors hearing this happen might well have come out the door with a shotgun, rifle or pistol and done something to stop it; not only could they have legally been armed, they'd have been aware that stopping a murder would be considered a Good Thing. Now, not only do they not have arms but they're fully aware that if the DID do such a thing the cops and prosecutors might well try to put them in prison for 'interfering' in the situation.
