of their current tactic of "If you don't agree with us, you're a bigot/racist!" ?
The very idea of it made them angry. "I'm particularly offended by these people who want to take the nation back," said Maida Odom, who came to the rally from Philadelphia on board a bus chartered by the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees/ AFSCME Local 1199. "I'm saddened that people haven't risen above their bigotry. If you read the Republican Contract with America, you can see the bigotry in between every line."
Yeah, a desire for smaller government and lower taxes, how much more bigoted can you get?
Do they remove a reasoning part of their brain before they say crap like this?

Probably not - it's served them well and a substantial number of the populace believes it. They've swilled so much of the koolaid they believe whatever they're told to believe (or whatever is printed on their beautiful union-printed sign).
You're thinking they had any reasoning power to begin with. After decades of choppin' cotton for the democrat plantation owners, any reasoning capacity has long been bred out of these plantation voters.
