'Qualified immunity' my ass, how does that give a county engineer protection
for pulling people over and detaining them? No LE officer, no legal authority, asshat just did it. And some idiot judges granted him said immunity, which is even more idiotic than what he did.

A certificated aircraft pilot who refuses ANY federal employee showing airman certification, or aircraft registration commits violation of federal regulation.
In some instances, that would include inspection of the aircraft, even if not for commercial use.
As you can imagine, there has been a lot of abuse of that. Such as when some local yokel airport employee tried to pretend he had federal authority. When he was refused, he tried to arrest aircraft crew and passengers and ordering them to lie face down on the tarmac. He also tried to plant narcotics in the aircraft but was caught by my friend's camera.
Here in Michigan, they made asset forfeiture very different, and not a money grab for the police that it used to be. I think that there has to be a conviction for them to get away with it.

Qualified immunity rates up there with civil asset forfeiture as a blight on our freedoms.

No badge, no authority - shoot in face.
Seems like an extreme abuse of the concept, not that the concept isn't habitually abused already,
