"We represent the PEOPLE and SAFETY! But you can't know who we are."

The new group, which claims to be non-partisan, will work to push new gun restrictions at the state level. But the coalition has one major problem – they will not let anyone know who they are.

ASLGVP boasts having 200 members from all 50 states but the group will not release a list of their membership, due to a fear of “political backlash.” So, outside of the eight members that participated in the inaugural press conference, no one knows who is or is not a member of this group. We are not witnessing a “Profiles in Courage” moment here.
"We're doing important work, but we're afraid the commoners won't agree and won't vote for us, so who belongs is classified."

In Washington with I594:
Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer said “The Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney’ Office will not make criminals out of the hardworking citizens of Lewis County. Where I-594 attempts to criminalize every-day activities, I, in the exercise of my prosecutorial discretion, will not charge individuals with these types of violations. At the same time, make no mistake I will hold accountable those who, in violation of this initiative, knowingly put guns in the hands of criminals.

Y'know, if you boil this down it's "Those people can't keep up with the non-colored students, so we need to make special considerations for their grades."  And if someone not 'academic and progressive' made such a statement it'd be condemned for the racist and insulting statement it is.

If I attended that university, and had to listen to a university bigshot spew this bigoted crap, I'd be thinking about filing a complaint.  Or talking to my legislators about the place.  Or both.
