The real cases of gender dysphoria are rare, but only doing the hormones and surgery to those who actually fit, well, that doesn't fill the, call it the 'quota' leftist society demands.

Keep in mind a lot of the parents grew up in the tune in, turn on, and drop out era of higher education and then passed on that mentality to their kids annnnd history repeats. One could make the argument that the Timothy Leary crowd got it's start from the cold war era marxists.
What's been lost in all this is the stong core of self awareness that comes from faith and family. These kids are rudderless and turn to anything to make them feel something (whatever it is).
Drugs, self-abuse, self-mutilation including cutting as well as sex change surgery, violence, and crime are all up as well. Case in point in my home state where two teens beat their h.s. Spanish teacher to death with a baseball bat.
It's good to see some parents finally seeing the light.
