for, what, two years now? It started with "Cloth masks are useless", and continues with it now being a surprise that being badly overweight is a real risk factor for Wuhan. Despite having ignored/rediculed that for this whole time.
When the "I have ALL THE SHOTS!" people are getting Wuhan, often at rates worse than those nasty non-conformers, it requires a change of the Preferred Narrative™.
Also, a lot more people, having found that their Professional Journalists have been lying to them, are finding out what one helluva lot of doctors and professors and researchers have been saying, and getting really pissed about being lied to.
Also there's an election coming, and the left really wants to try and get out from under the slight problem of "You lied to us, and people are dying because of it."
On that subject, remember the insurance guy talking about the big rise in death rate for working-age people? Here's a bit more. I don't doubt that part of this is from idiot politicians telling people they can't get treatment unless it's 'emergency'(by THEIR definition) letting diseases get out of control, and said idiots really don't want to face the blame for that.
